Morrell is 6-foot-0, with an athletic build. He is a five-year varsity player and the reigning Carl Yastrzmski Award Winner. He dominated and fired his fifth career no-hitter with 15 strikeouts. He has a smooth and repeatable delivery. Has a leg kick that is roughly shoulder height. At his balance point, he has a slightly bent back leg. He has a very good stride for his height and throws with a high release point. He gets good extension. He hit 95 on two pitches, but worked mainly in the 88-92 MPH territory. He has a devastating 12/6 curveball at 76 MPH. He also mixed in a few 84-85 MPH changeups with slight lateral movement. Maintained velocity late into game. Very good athlete that fields position well.
