Fall 2017

Strong arm with all the fundamentals in place from the outfield. Balanced, line drive approach at the plate.

Big Apple Preview (October 8, 2016)

Moreno stands in at 5-foot-11, 170-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 7.00 – 60, an improvement from posting a 7.20 at the NY State Open ID in January 2016. Offensively- RHH sets up square to the pitcher with his feet just outside his shoulders. Slight knee bend with an upright torso. Hands are held just above back shoulder with pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch his trigger is a slight knee raise into a stride forward while his hands move back into a good hitting position. Lower body rotation is aggressive getting entire frame into swing. Hands are quick to the hitting zone with an aggressive level bat path through the zone into a high one handed finish. Swing is fluid and smooth. Hit to all fields with consistent line drive contact. Recorded an exit velocity of 83 MPH, an 11 MPH improvement from January 2016. Defensively- Good footwork and approach getting in front and underneath baseball. Crow hop mechanics are fluid getting whole body involved with the throw. Throws downhill and has appropriate outfield arm swing. Will improve with added quickness. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 84 MPH, a 9 MPH improvement from January 2016.

NY State Open ID (January 31, 2016)

Christopher is a slightly built but athletic 5-foot-9 130 pound outfielder who ran a 7.20 60 and 4.01 home-to-1B. Offensively- Christopher starts in a even and balanced stance, with his feet just outside his shoulders. Hand position is up and off the shoulder with a 30 degree bat angle. Snaps his wrists back within his load, using a short up-down leg kick for a stride. Aggressive lower half with hands staying short into the zone. Good acceleration through contact, handling the wood bat with ease. Extended finish up and out in front of the body with line drive results. Table setter type approach at the plate. Exit velocity was 71 MPH. Defensively- Active feet in the outfield, always staying in motion, working through the catch. Proficient with his crowhop with a quick/loose arm that produce plenty of future carry. Peak velocity was 75 MPH with more to be added. Has the right skill set and will only improve with experience and physical gains.
