Physical: 5-foot-11, 175 pounds; Athletic, build. 7.25 runner in the 60. Offensively: LHH. Even setup, with feet wide spread; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Loads straight back with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with a two handed finish. More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 92 MPH via Trackman. gap to gap with doubles pop. Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep hop while showing active feet. Hands are soft with a seamless transfer. Short take back from a high 3/4 arm slot. INF - 82 MPH.
2/24/22
Physical: 5-foot-11, 175 pounds; Full, proportional build. 7.23 runner in the 60. Offensively: LHH. Open setup, with feet wide spread; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a moderate swing path with a late one hand finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 92 MPH via Trackman.
Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; uses prep hop while utilizing a quick first step. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Short take back from a high 3/4 arm slot. INF - 82 MPH.
6/30/21
Physical: Developing and athletic 5-foot-10, 160lb frame with feel present. 7.42 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Wide, rhythmic stance with the hands starting up/down out over the plate. Utilized a short lift and replace stride as the bat head operated through a flat path into the hitting zone. Really efficient round of batting practice, staying over the rear hip with minimal additional movements. Able to repeat and get the trigger off, producing above-average rotational scores (20+ G’s of rotational acceleration) and a balanced gap to gap approach during his round. Recorded a T85 mph bat-exit velocity with a top of the order skillset (good bat to ball skills, direct swing, feel for top hand).
Defensively: The primary middle infielder displayed a hop in the prep step, gaining ground in either direction with twitchy actions. Worked well to his backhand side, getting angled down through the target for momentum purposes. Fielded cleanly off the middle of his body and released from H ¾ slot after a glove-tap (79 mph arm at his peak).
