Physical: Long, lean 5-foot-9, 155lb frame with projectability and athleticism in the actions. 7.40 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Wider, even stance as the hands operated with rhythm bouncing off the shoulder to start. Utilized a directional lift and replace stride as the bat head initiated through a short, direct path towards a lower finish on the backside. Produced lots of fly ball contact in the approach (33% FB rate via Trackman), working up to a near 300 foot batted ball distance to the pull-side. Notched a T85 mph bat-exit velocity, pointing towards occasional doubles power at the plate; simple, direct swing that delivered lower swing/miss rates in-game action.
Defensively: The backstop featured a low, narrow traditional setup behind the plate, utilizing good glove hand actions at the catch (soft, subtle). Rocked the body in rhythm on pop times, ranging from 1.96 best to 2.03 with lightning quick, replaceable feet/transfers in and out of the glove. A shorter ¾ slot released accurately on the bag sometimes using the turf (72 mph arm). Clean actions and will be a force in the run-game as he keeps adding strength.
Physical: Lean and compact 5-foot-7, 130-pound frame with ability to continue filling out as he matures. 7.72 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Crouched, balanced stance with the hands starting with rhythm next to the ear bouncing on the shoulder. Utilized a lift-and-replace stride coupled with weight shift towards a stiff front side to initiate his swing into the hitting zone. Hit the ball repeatedly off of the front side while standing up and losing posture at times. The hands showed quality feel for the barrel and generated pull-side contact with regularity during batting practice. Recorded a top bat-exit velocity of 82 mph according to Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: The primary backstop showed moderate feel for receiving skills as a soft glove hand arrived to the spot on time. Pop times ranged from 2.20-2.34 with short straight line footwork, the arm worked through a high ¾ slot with a moderate arm circle. Body worked around balls in the dirt, deadening on either side. C - 66 mph … The middle infielder featured a soft glove hand that worked out in front while arriving to the baseball. Fielded off the middle of his body with adequate catch and throw technique. Made throws on the run from multiple arm angles. INF - 75 mph
