June 2018
6-foot-0, 165 pound Left Handed Pitcher struck out 9 batters in 3.2 IP in relief for the win.  Starts facing home plate, left foot on middle of the rubber, right foot off. Brings knee up slightly past belt. Arm action is long and throws from a side arm to low 3/4 slot. Minimal use of lower half or drive off mound. Fastball sits low to mid 70’s.  Mixes in a lateral action slider that produced several swing and misses. Works fast and sneaks up on hitters.

Downstate Unsigned Senior (October 21, 2017)
Hogben is a stocky 6-foot-1 165 pound LHP/1B. Hogben ran a 7.65 60. Offensively- Upright balanced with quiet timing mechanisms. Level bat path with pull tendency and an 81 MPH exit velocity. Smooth transition from load to barrel contact. Solid pop as a result. Defensively- Moves well and has a smooth throwing motion at a 70 MPH throwing velocity. Driving through legs could improve carry/velocity. Pitching- Sets up to middle of rubber with slight inward turn. Small side step to quick waist high balance point to drift at catcher with 70 MPH fastball. Could wheel back leg through to gain velocity. Arm slot is a low ¾ slot. Curveball ranges from 61-62 MPH with 11-5 break. Slider registers at 65 MPH with inward late movement to right handed batters.
Upstate Unsigned Senior (September 30, 2017)
Hogben is an athletic 6-foot-1 165 pounds right-handed hitting first baseman and left-handed pitcher. He ran a 7.61 60. Offensively- Stands straight up from the waist up, feet little more than shoulder width apart. Front foot stats slight open. Back elbow starts up, hands close to head, bat at a 45-degree angle. Brings front leg up and down on load. Strong hands and quick bat speed through the zone. Stays on the ball well. Generates exit velocity of 83 MPH. Could increase power with more utilization of lower half; two handed finish with line drive/flyball results. Defensively- Attacks the baseball. Good, quick feet complimented by soft hands. Gets off the bag well to get in a good fielding position. Throws across the diamond at 70 MPH with a traditional short infield arm action from a low slot..Pitching- Starts facing home plate, left foot on middle of the rubber, right foot off. Brings knee up slightly past belt. Arm action is long and throws from a side arm to low 3/4 slot. Minimal use of lower half or drive off mound. Fastball sits 71-73 MPH. and tops at 73 MPH.
