2/18/21
Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-9, 140-pound frame with room to fill out as he matures. 7.62 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - The righty started from a wide, even stance with the hands showing high above the shoulder with minor rhythm. Utilized a leg hang stride to initiate the bat head through a flat path with fluidity entering the hitting window. Jump off the barrel towards the LCF gap while holding the backside well during the swing; an 85 mph bat-exit velocity and near 300 foot max batted ball distance point towards doubles power at the moment. A short stroke produced a 42% line drive rate / 50% fly ball rate, effectively keeping the ball off the ground in the approach during batting practice.
Defensively: The primary middle infielder flashed above-average feel during defensive evals with a low posture at the fielding window and a soft, rhythmic glove hand that could give or take. Solid pace from the left side, though the arm (75 mph) will relegate him to a second base position at the moment. Has the ability to be a quality defender down the line, the actions worked.
