Physical: Seasoned, athletic 5-foot-10, 175lb frame with positional flexibility. 7.09 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Started from a balanced, even stance with a slight bend in the knees; utilized a leg hang stride to initiate the bat head through an efficient, slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Some of the better bat to ball skills on Team NY, able to hit pitches in any quadrant for hard barrels to either gap. Featured a strong top hand that dominated the swing, phasing into a clean, blocked off front side at impact en route to a T92 mph bat-exit velocity (53% fly ball rate via Trackman). Demonstrated a connected, top of the order type approach flashing doubles power to the pull-side when getting synced up on time.
Defensively: The primary backstop showed off lower posture at a traditional crouch; a soft glove hand received in an advanced fashion, manipulating strikes on the corners. Pop times ranged from 2.00-2.13, staying behind the pitch and getting rid with quickness from a lightning fast exchange to H ¾ slot (76 mph arm, accurate). Slid over to third base, hopping at the prep step with natural feel in the footwork. Stayed low with a calm glove hand, operating inside of the left foot and maintained rhythm at release. Handled all plays with ease and threw on a dime across his body (81 mph arm).
6/28/21
Physical: Strong, athletic 5-foot-10, 175lb frame with advanced feel and good proportions. 7.20 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Loose, shoulder-width start as the knees faced slightly inwards and hands operated calmly at the shoulder. Utilized a leg-lift stride and efficient movements to initiate the swing through a twitchy, slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Could work gap to gap on the nose, hitting behind the baseball with early connection available (38% line drive rate via Trackman). Quick hands commanded the inner half and could stay inside the baseball when thrown out over the plate. Produced a T92 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak and added a 285 foot batted ball distance suggesting a top of the order approach and doubles power on occasion.
Defensively: The primary backstop is an above-average defender showcasing clean actions on receive/catch and throw/blocking. The glove hand featured easy control of the pitch, catching it in the pocket and beating the ball to the spot. Pop times ranged from 1.82-1.90, exploding through the front of the plate on time with good posture in the lower half. Replaced the feet and got rid in rhythm from a ¾ slot (quick release, strong 79 mph arm). Able to shut down the run-game and notched consistent, sub 2.00 times even when given tough pitches to throw on.
