Notes

Comments

6/28/21

Physical: Strong/athletic 5-foot-10, 180lb frame with a muscular build. 7.33 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Slightly open with minor coil over the backside leg, showing rhythm in the hands by the head. Utilized a stretched load back beyond the shoulder, initiating the swing through a lightning quick, flat path into the hitting zone. Could get slightly rotational at times, but stayed on the barrel hard to the pull-side during batting practice. Notched a smooth 50% line drive rate, suggesting the ability to hit for average at the plate; added a 321 foot batted ball distance (via Trackman) with doubles power available to LCF. Posted a T91 mph bat-exit velocity and really did damage out at the front of the plate.

Defensively: The primary third baseman operated from a wide position, gaining with the feet gradually downhill, right-left / right-left and fielded softly out in front. Used an in-line shuffle while gathering on the exchange, releasing from H ¾ slot to the target (75 mph arm, accurate). Then moved to the outfield where he shined, ranging in either direction and creating good downhill tempo through the baseball. Generated a lot of leverage at release from a full arm circle, H ¾ slot (T88 mph, carry to the plate) and locked down a corner outfield position moving forward.

8/19/20

Physical: 5-foot-9, 170 pounds; athletic build, strength present. 7.29 runner in the 60.
Offensively:RHH. Narrow stance that is slightly open, hands high and away from body; small pick up and put down of the foot, striding forward just past where he starts. Barrel goes upright to start the timing process. Shifts weight forward upon contact, occasionally drifting through contact with down and out of the zone quickly, when timing is good he is able to catch a solid barrel. When he was able to see the ball down, he sent multiple balls to the middle and opposite parts of the field; peak Trackman exit velocity of 89 MPH.
Defensively: 3B: Low to the ground, gives appearance to be ready to move laterally; OF: Straight up stance with minimal bend in the lower half; 3B: utilizes a prep hop to set himself up for the approach, small choppy steps to keep his weight centered; OF: slow steps to the ball, carefully setting himself up to field on correct side. 3B: soft hands, occasional delay in transfer; OF: good hands, fielding out in front keeping energy going forward; 3B: short, quick arm action you would typically see from a 2B/SS; OF: slightly longer arm circle than showcased for 3B, low 3/4 lot .    INF - 81 MPH. OF - 85 MPH.

10/27/19

Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance and feet shoulder width apart. Works off a short stride towards the pitcher before attacking the hitting zone. Displayed hard consistent contact during the batting practice portion at the Last Chance Event. Defensively- as an outfielder, displayed an aggressive approach to the baseball. Above average exchange to a quick release from a high 3/4 arm slot. As an infielder, waits back for the baseball. Above average funnel actions. Displayed a strong arm on throws across the infield.
