9/18/20

Physical: 6-foot-0, 165 pounds; proportional, broad shouldered frame.
Pitching: Easy, repeatable delivery with a tall and fall approach down the mound. Twitchy, long action from a 3/4 slot. FB: T 77MPH, 74-77 MPH. Threw a lot of strikes, hit the corners with confidence. High spin rate indicating a slight uptick in velocity could be possible in the future. CB: 64-66 MPH. Showcased a breaking ball that is a quality pitch to throw early in counts to get ahead. SL: 70-71 MPH. Slider has potential to be a very quality secondary pitch with good swing and miss movement. CH: 70-72 MPH. Threw the changeup with confidence to his arm side.

CNY ASG (September 30, 2018)

Lean build with a projectable frame at 6-foot, 150-pounds. Offensively – Sets up square to the pitcher with feet just outside shoulder width. Stays balanced with toe tap load. Compact swing. Hands stay inside of the ball. Barrel remains level thru the zone. Chance to add pull-side power in future. Defensively – Wide, balanced set-up behind the plate. Receives ball out in front before chest-high exchange. Shows consistent direction with lower half. Arm gets long after hand break and will need to shorten up in the future. Loose, whippy arm action after release.

Oswego (July 25, 2018)

Wiry frame at 6-foot-0 150 pounds, the right-handed hitter ran a 4.75 home-to-1B. Offensively- Weight preloaded to back side with a knee-to-knee stride; hands work back late but create separation. Mixed back of results as swing path can be altered but upper body effort. Raw exit velocity was 79 MPH off the tee.  Defensively- Modified secondary position; spacing between glove and throwing hand during transfer creates delay. Respectable arm strength at 71 MPH for age but will need some fine tuning tying his transfer & footwork together to lower his 2.31-2.44 pop time range. Plenty of time for adjustment and additional strength.
