May 2018
Athletic, elastic athlete with explosive actions. The RHP dialed it up to 94-95 MPH in the first inning before settling in at 92-94 MPH. At times flashed a sharp, 2-plane slider in the 81-83 MPH range but had trouble repeating in game. Mixed several change ups at 86-87 with some sink; almost a “power change” that acts more like a heavy FB. Mechanically can get upright with his finish along with some cross fire from a closed off stride. Command wavered but has been extremely efficient to date.

7/10/17 - Named to Team USA 18U trials roster.
7/1/17 - Made his second appearance, allowing a hit and striking out four in two innings. His fastball ranged from 93-96, sitting mostly at 95.
6/28/17 - pitched strictly from the windup and showed a live arm, touching 95 and sitting 91-94. There is finish to his fastball, though he left it up quite a bit. He snapped off one curveball with sharp break and depth. It sat 83-85.
June 2017

Up to 92-94 MPH with Slider checking in at 84 MPH.
Summer 2016
Recently watched Torres compete this summer showing increased gains from winter-workouts. Fastball sat 87-89, popped a few 90's from an extremely quick, athletic arm action. His wiry frame at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds still shows signs of development, high-end prospect to keep a close eye on.

Looks to have grown a few inches since August.  Offensively- Hits from a spread setup with minimal timing actions. Tends to overswing and lift at times. Once his legs are underneath he'll be able to shorten his swing path and be a force. Pitching-  Lot's of life in the arm, ball jumps out of his hand from a 3/4 slot. Tends to close off his stride contributing to some crossfire action. Needs to repeat delivery better but the tools are there. Threw a few late action sliders with good tilt.

Impressive dual player. On the mound he sat 84-86 MPH with a sinking 2S fastball at 83 MPH. Slider in the 76-77 MPH range. Loose and free actions. Best athlete on the field, would need to see more as a position player for a projection range.
