Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Stands 5-foot-10, 180-pounds with a well proportioned body frame, athletic build. Natrual reads from the OF, with a quick and strong arm that had carry to the bag at 85 mph. At the plate, even stance, closed off stride on the pitch, drops his hands on the pitch at times, mostly level barrel plane, high full finish.
Preseason - Downstate (February 21, 2018)
At the plate he uses a slightly open stance from a wide base, on the pitch he uses a smooth load back, long stride back to even, Barrel path is smooth and fluid slightly uphill with full extension. Shows the ability to consistently make solid contact. Defensively attacks the ball with an aggressive approach, fields to his glove side, gets his lower half and feet in front of him to make a strong powerful throw towards his target, high 3/4 slot above-average arm strength at 85 mph with carry, exciting Central New York prospect to keep an eye on in the 2019 class.
Preseason All-State (February 20, 2017)
Harder stands in at 5-foot-9, 160-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 7.25 – 60. Offensively- Lefty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet just outside his shoulders. Knees are slightly bent with an upright torso. Holds his hands just in front of the back shoulder showing little pre-pitch bat movement prior to delivery. On pitch his trigger is a inward knee raise into his back leg to stride forward while his hands move back slightly into his hitting position. Could use more of a trigger with the hands here to get more action into the swing thus allow the bat to generate more velocity. Bat head is level throughout the hitting zone into an aggressive high two handed finish. Good lower body rotation getting whole frame involved with swing. Recorded an exit velocity of 78 MPH. Spread his line drives around during his round; swings with intent. Defensively- Shows quick footwork to get to baseball. Could gain more ground towards intended target with the crow hop to help with velocity and accuracy of the throw. Arm action is good with a ¾ slot and carry. Will get better with more reps and strength development. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 79 MPH.
