Physical: Lengthy, projectable 6-foot-1, 160lb frame with wiry athleticism down the slope.
Pitching: LHP - Starts from the stretch-only off the right corner of the rubber. Slow, momentum-gaining stack above waist height and extends well into the glove on the front-side into a blocked off front-side. Longer, full arm-swing that created jump on an 87-90 mph FB that showed ride/run characteristics. Mixed an improving 70-73 mph 1/7 curveball with consistent sweep across the plate. History of pitching well in big games when we have been in attendance.
Physical: The Quinnipiac commit stands a lengthy, projectable 6-foot, 155lbs with natural feel in multiple phases. 7.73 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, bent stance with the hands operation low at the chest line to start. Utilized a short leg lift stride on time with a stretched move at the load; initiated through a flat, whippy path into the hitting zone showing good extension out towards the front of the plate. Used long levers to hit behind the baseball into a stiff/adjustable front side producing a 92 mph bat-exit velocity (via Trackman). Could lift on occasion at a 30% clip finding a couple barrels that carried deep to the LCF part of the field (T325 foot batted ball distance). Some middle of the order consideration down the road as he continues holding strength and seasoning the approach.
Defensively: The outfielder played with confidence during defensive evals, on his toes and gliding to the baseball. A soft glove hand handled short hops, long hops, and anything in between flashing loose, soft actions on the funnels inward off the right side. Got separation during an athletic release at H ¾ slot (T93 mph arm, RF projection) that transfers over to the mound.
Pitching: LHP - The primary southpaw started off the right side of the rubber from the stretch-only. Lower/shallow leg lift and held hip coil on his move down the slope, gaining hip-shoulder and elasticity throughout the release (H ¾, full/clean arm circle). Pounded the strike zone with swing/miss traits on the FB (85-87 mph, 18 inches carry, 60% zone rate). Turned to a gradual 72-74 mph breaker at a 1/7 tilt with occasional two-plane shape. Misses a lot of barrels getting groundouts, strikeouts at a high clip.
At the plate, the right handed hitter works with a wide base. Short simple load actions before attacking the hitting zone. Hits slightly up hill. Stays balanced throughout the swing. Defensively, the outfielder displayed smooth actions with a low effort throwing action from a high 3/4 arm slot. The 2022 outfielder improved in every measurable from the summer Campus Series Event.
Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box with feet shoulder width apart. Short simple load. Quick direct path to the baseball. Displayed solid contact to the middle part of the field. Good use of the lower half. Stays balanced throughout his swing. Defensively- the OF displayed active footwork during the showcase portion. Fields the ball slightly off center. Smooth exchange and quick release from a high ¾ arm slot.
