A veteran of the PBR ranks, Nico continues to show us the next level of his game. Offensively- Nico put together some of the better plate appearances. Hitting from a spread stance with a short leg lift and minimal load, Nico was able to repeat a short stroke that produced line drive results. Very little wasted motion. Gets the barrel to the ball consistently and had resounding line drive single through the middle and a triple on the day. Defensively- Nico shows a steady glove with an accurate arm. Creates good angles into the ball and can accelerate and cover ground to both glove and backhand sides. Hands stay out in front and funnel into transfer. Would like to see more efficiency with his shuffle footwork to allow for continuation into his throwing. Projects well up the middle, possibly as a next level second baseman who brings an above average offensive game to the table. Runs well to consider an OF move if option ever presented itself.
