ENY All-Star Games (September 17, 2017)
Bossinas stands in at 6-foot-2, 165-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Offensively- Righty sets up slightly open with his feet just outside his shoulders. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding the bat above his back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a toe tap to stride forward while his hands move back into his hitting position. Quick hands to the hitting zone with a slight upward lift barrel action throughout into a high two-handed finish. Good lower body rotation getting whole frame involved in the swing. Demonstrated good plate coverage and the ability to hit line drives to all fields during batting practice rounds with clean fluid swings. Recorded an exit velocity of 81 MPH, 1 MPH shy of his previous best measure of 82 MPH set in June 2017. Defensively- Good approach and footwork getting underneath the baseball. Smooth crow hop mechanics gaining ground with a long outfielder arm swing. Moves well left/right and was accurate on throws. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 77 MPH, 1 MPH shy of his 78 MPH best set in June 2017. Pitching- Sets up in the middle of the rubber with a simple side step into a high leg kick above his hip crease. Good drive down with appropriate separation getting into a good throwing position with a high ¾ release point. Utilizes whole body when throwing and repeats delivery on different pitches. Fastball sat 76-77 MPH and peaked at 77 MPH with good arm side run. Curveball shows tight spin and is 64-65 MPH. Overall a talented 2019 prospect to keep an eye on. Will only get better with added strength and his continued development.
NY Games (June 25-27, 2017)
Athletic build at 6-foot-2, 165 pounds, ran 7.48/60, strong upside. Offensively - emerging lower body engagement, segmented swing with strong hands and pronounced upper cut for an exit velocity of of 82 MPH, fluid swing with level bat path will add to power. Defensively - agile, balanced, sets up well to create momentum for outfield velocity of 78 MPH with impressive accuracy. Pitching - uses height to create downward plane on fastball arm-side run at 77-78 MPH, positive hip tilt at the balance point, clean arm action, uses same release for 2-to-7 curveball at 63-64 MPH, induces weak contact.
