Fall 2018
Committed to NCAA DI Albany from Herkimer CC.
New York Games (June 27-29, 2016)
Lanaro is 5-foot-7; 145 pounds and ran a 7.40 60 (7.24 indoors in Jan. 2016).  Offensively- Bat rests on shoulder pre-load, slightly open, short stride, solid separation and hands to inside the ball nicely. Drives back knee violently and stays very balanced throughout the entire swing. Finishes high with 2 hands and has an exit velocity of 85 MPH (up 7 MPH from Jan. 2016). Line drive results that jump off the bat. Defensively- Starts low and athletic, glove out in front and head down, strong going glove side and comfortable throwing on the run. Footwork improvements can help increase momentum and 79 MPH (up 3 MPH from Jan. 2016) arm. Low-3/4 arm slot with quick hands. Pitching- Minimal drop stop, belt high balance point, finishes slightly closed with a ¾ arm slot. Strong front leg and can improve on increasing momentum off the rubber. FB has good life, sitting 79-80 MPH, CH 71-72 MPH and SL showed tight action at 67-69 MPH.
Preseason All-State (January 31, 2016)
Ryan is an athletic 5-foot-7 145 pound SS/RHP with some fast twitch actions. He ran a 7.24 60 and a 4.03 home-to-1B. Offensively- Offensively Ryan uses a bat lift off the shoulder with short load back to a 45 degree angle. Starts open and leg kicks back to even to complete his timing. Stays behind the ball well with his hands leading the swing, causing some early length as he works against his lower half. When timing was earlier there was a  better effort from the back foot/hips. Line drive results with an attack mentality. Exit velocity was 78 MPH. Defensively- Active feet with tremendous lateral action. Able to stop, start and change direction while yet controlling himself into his fielding position. A couple delays with his transfer but he stays with his footwork and has a snap like release. Arm strength peaked at 76 MPH across the diamond. Pitching- On the mound Ryan gets everything he can out of his frame without over doing his effort. Works from the glove side of the rubber with a methodical drop step up to a belt high balance point. Stride opens up some to the 1B side but had no issues finding his release point from a 3/4 slot. Commands his FB well to both sides of the plate, sitting 78-79 MPH, touching 81 MPH. Above average feel for secondary stuff has change held it's plane at 71-72 MPH with good arm speed. Breaking ball was more of a slider variety with some late bite/tilt in the 67-68 MPH range. Definite dual potential at the next level.
