May 2018
Long and lean RHP who drew the task of matching up vs. Neeck and in front of nearly 30 pro scouts. Sat 81-83 MPH, with a ¾ arm slot, touching 85 MPH early on with a 70-72 MPH CB; action was 11-5 CB with some depth. Works downhill with some arm side run; frame projects with a high ceiling that will be reached at the college level.
East-West Battle (July 2017)
Rangy, wiry middle infielder at 5-foot-11 165 pounds. Good looking all around athlete. Slightly open, relaxed setup; quick middle in. Battles in the Box. Played both SS and 2B; good range, can make the plays on the move.
Downstate Fall Preview (October 2, 2016)
Figuereo, an athletic 2018 left-handed hitting middle infielder, stands at 5-foot-9 and weighs a solid 140 pounds, he ran a 7.5 60. Offensively- Starts with an slight open crouched lower half hands above the back shoulder and barrel of the bat parallel to the ground. Begins with the weight evenly balanced and shifts to the backside during the launch phase of the swing. Creates good separation during approach to the ball. Strong and athletic, showed glimpses of driving the ball to the middle of the field, from the opposite to pull side gap. Has an aggressive approach to the ball and looks to make hard contact. Does not get cheated on any swing. Recorded an exit velocity of 77 MPH on the day. Defensively- Athletic second baseman with fluid movements to the ball. Fields the ball out in front of the body, using a funneling technique with a quick transfer that gets the throwing arm into a strong position and in sync with the rest of the body. Throws were accurate with plus carry. Agile infielder that showed the ability to get to the ball to the left or right with great body control and ability to quickly get into a strong throwing position. Recorded an arm velocity of 78 MPH on the day.
