6-foot, 200 pound left-handed hitting first baseman. Ran a 7.85 sixty at the event. The frame is excellent for the position as he is athletic and moves well for a bigger player at his age. The glove is solid at first, feet work appropriately. Showed a clean arm path across the diamond as he is working his way back from having a sore arm. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 83 mph. The setup is wide in base, front foot has a small pick up and put down as the ball approaches. The path is clean to the ball, needs to be flattened. The hands work well and he showed be a good prospect as a hitter in a year or two.
Tee Exit Velocity- 82 mph
Rising Stars (February 11, 2018)
Left-handed hitting catcher with solid frame at 5-foot-7 175 pounds. He ran a 9.48 60 and a 5.52 home-to-1B. Offensively- Even stance; minimal pre-pitch actions with short load and stride. Strong lower half with some lift to his pull side. Balance throughout with line drive; pull side gap results. Exit velocity was 74 MPH. Solid offensive foundation. Defensively- As a catcher Wiesner uses a balanced setup, gaining ground towards 2B during his pop step. Will need to work on being consistent with transfer and arm slot as both tend to vary. Arm strength was 56 MPH with a pop time range of 2.87-3.15.
