April 2018
Compact 5-foot-9 170 pound OF played showed some power against good pitching, hitting a solo homerun on the first pitch of the second inning that landed on the blacktop beyond the deep left field fence at Ithaca’s field.  Barley (R/R) almost did it again his 2nd time up, taking the center fielder to the warning track to make the put out. Impressive pop from a smaller frame

NY Games (June 25-27, 2017)
Solid build at 5-foot- 9 and 170 pounds ran a 7.22/ 60 time. Offensively - smooth and level swing, repeatable motion, drives ball to the middle of the with an exit velocity of 85 MPH, extends well through his swing, appropriate pre-pitch movement, further engagement of lower half will add to power. Defensively - developing footwork with an accurate arm at 79 MPH from the outfield, creates downward with a slight crow hop.
Preseason All-State (February 20, 2017)

Barley stands in at 5-foot-9, 165-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Recorded a 6.99 – 60. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet outside his shoulder with his knees bent and even weight distribution.  Torso is leaning slightly towards home plate with his hands held in front of his back shoulder. Shows little pre-pitch bat movement staying quiet prior to pitch. On pitch his trigger is a leg raise striding out towards the pitcher while his hands move back behind his shoulder into a good hitting position. Hands are quick to the hitting zone showing upward lift bat action throughout into a high two handed finish. Could get more torque into his swing by utilizing more aggressive lower body rotation to generate power.  Was consistent hitting by displaying good gap to gap power by driving through the ball. Recorded an exit velocity of 85 MPH. Defensively- Athletic footwork getting to the baseball and moves well left/right. Crow hop was smooth but could use a longer arm swing to get more strength and power into the throw. More of a follow through would help with accuracy on throws into the infield. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 79 MPH.
