5-foot-10, 170-pounds with a compact athetic build, ran a 7.32 60 yard dash and plays even quicker. Great energy and actions up the middle. Plays fast, cerebral. Strong arm and quick release (81 mph arm-strength). Switch hitter with slightly easier actions action the left-side. 87 mph bat speed. Hard contact from both sides. Quick hands and simple actions. Barrels the ball on a slightly inclined plane, very good propsect to keep a close eye on.
May 2018
5-foot-10 middle infielder with impressive skill set; Offensively - quick to the ball, keeps bat on level path through the strike zone, makes intelligent adjustments during at bats; consistent barrel contact, has gap power; quick out of the box, pest on the basepaths. Defensively - shows consistent pre-pitch movement, clean and agile footwork, soft hands, sure glove, smooth and easy transition between glove and throwing hand, strong arm across the infield.

Preseason - West (February 19, 2018)
Stands 5-foot-10, 165-pounds from a compact strong body build. Rosso is a switch hitter and ran 7.22 60-yard dash lowering his time since we last saw him. From the left-side he uses a slightly open stance, hands tucked by his back shoulder. Slight stride for timing, fluid swing path, barrel is slightly uphill, full finish. From the right side the mechanics are much the same but the bat-speed is slightly more aggressive at 87 mph off a tee, appears more fluid from the left-side however. Defensively, extremely fluid and smooth with his mechanics, active lower half getting through the ball with his throws, hands are quick and clean, releases from a high 3/4 slot with 82-mph arm-strength up four mph sense last summer. One of the top defenders in the 2019 class in NY.
NY Games (June 25-27, 2017)
Athletic 5-foot-9, 160-pound middle infielder, ran a 7.34/60. Defensively - agile footwork, confident body language, aggressive mindset, soft hands, smooth and easy transfer, accurate arm at 80 MPH. Offensively - switch hitter, keeps bat on level path with full extension and exit velocity of 78 MPH from right side and 73 MPH/left side; repeatable motion, tends toward pull side, lower body engagement will add to power.
NY All-Star Games (September 17, 2016)
Rosso stands in at 5-foot-7, 150-pounds with lean athletic frame. Ran a 7.75 – 60, a slight improvement from his previous recorded time of 7.89 at the NY State Open ID in January 2016. Offensively- Switch hitter that shows a lot of promise. On the left side sets up square to the pitcher with his feet outside his shoulders and his hands in front of his back shoulder. On the pitch his trigger is a simple step forward with his hands moving back into a good hitting position. Quick hands to the zone with level barrel action to a high two handed finish. Good rotation and stays on the ball. On the right side sets up slightly open with feet more shoulder width apart and his hands in front of the back shoulder. On pitch his trigger with his front leg is to move in before striding out. His hands move down slightly and back into a good hitting position. Quick hands to the zone and more of an upward angle with the barrel attacking the baseball through the zone to a high two handed finish. Swings from both side look simple and fluid with line drive results. Recorded and exit velocity of 78 mph from both sides of the plate, a 15 mph improvement from January 2016. Defensively- Good footwork and approach to baseball. Very quick moving left and right and fields the ball on the run well. Funnels to throwing hand well and moves towards throwing target aggressively. Displayed a position velocity of 74 mph, which is a 4 mph improvement from January 2016.
NY State Open ID (January 31, 2016)
Santino is a compact 5-foot-6 136 pound switch hitting middle infielder that ran a 7.89 60 and a 4.35 home-to-1B (from left side). Offensively- From the right side Santino hits from an open set up with a slight crouch. Hand position sits off and below back shoulder with a 45 degree bat angle. Separates hands with load and gets back to even with his stride. Balance stroke with some moderate leveling early in the swing with an extended finish. Peak exit velocity from both sides was 63 MPH but his results played better. From the left side, a similar set up with a slight twist within his load. Stays shorter into the zone and is more compact with his body position. Extension works out of the zone early but not a detriment. Line drive/groundball results from the left side with line drive/flyball results from the right side. Repeats efforts well on both sides and as a 2019 he'll have time to master both. Defensively- Athletic middle infield actions. Moves well laterally, using short breakdown steps but without losing his momentum. Love the bounce in his step. Soft hands, tends to hang glove side foot back with a bit of a side-saddle approach. Can make plays on the move. Arm strength presently 70 MPH which plays well with his quick release and will only get better with maturity.  Will be a player to follow up the middle the next few years.
