6/25/19

A lean athletic frame at 5-foot-10,165 pounds. Ran a 7.16 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- Stands in the box feet shoulder width apart. Takes a short stride towards the pitcher. Simple load action. Quick direct path to the baseball. Flat bat path. Good use of the lower half. Clears his hips. Gets full extension after the point of contact. Sprayed the ball all over the field during the hitting portion. Top exit velocity was 87 MPH. Defensively- Gets himself in a good position before fielding the baseball. Shows active footwork. Moves well laterally. Shows a smooth funnel action. Throws from a high ¾ arm slot. Top throwing velocity was 82 MPH. Pitching- Displayed a repeatable delivery and loose projectable arm action. Works with tempo. Takes his time to gather himself into a balanced backside and drives downhill with low effort. FB has late life and ranged from 84-86 MPH. Peaked at 86 MPH.  Showed a CB with a tight spin at 68-70 MPH. Showed feel for a CH at 76-78 MPH. The 2020 graduate is a must follow.

2/22/19

A lean 5-foot-10, 150 pounds athletic frame. Ran a 7.31 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance. Short simple load. Direct path to the baseball. Short compact swing through the hitting zone. Gets full extension after the point of contact. Balanced throughout the swing. Displayed consistent hard contact. Top exit velocity was 81 MPH. Defensively- the fielder displayed active footwork. Gets himself in a good position when fielding the baseball. Smooth funnel actions. Quick release on throws across the diamond. Gets his feet under him when throwing the baseball. Top throwing velocity across the diamond was 78 MPH. Pitching- the right handed pitcher displayed a repeatable delivery and a live easy arm during the bullpen session. Gets into a balanced backside before driving downhill. Uses a high knee lift and smooth hand separation. FB peak at 84 MPH with late life. CB has a tight spin and ranged from 66-67 MPH. Feel for a CH ranging from 72-74 MPH. The 2020 graduate is a must follow.

2/23/18

Sawyer is a 5’9” 145 lb SS/RHP that ran a 4.39 home-to-first. Offensively: He bats with a slightly crouched stance and has most of his weight on his back side and employs a bat wag as a timing mechanism. He uses a combination of a toe tap and a small stride. Has good bat speed and finishes with one hand on the bat and gets good extension. Defensively: Quick first step, soft hands and threw with a 72 MPH velocity from SS. Adept at charging the ball on the slow rollers.
