WNY Travel Workout (January 16, 2017)

McKinney stands at 5-foot-10, 165 pounds. Recorded a time of 4.45 seconds from home to first base. Offensively- Starts with feet at shoulder width and knees bent. Hands are at shoulder height with hands extended away from body. Has a small stride that lands even. Weight shifts forward through swing. Hand path is slightly around ball with an uphill swing plane. Extension through contact with high finish. Had an exit velocity of 82 MPH off the tee. Defensively- Has feet narrow and sits low in crouch. Feet attack target to generate momentum on throws. Smooth glove to hand ball transfer. Throws with short arm action. Pop times ranged from 2.06-2.22 seconds with a velocity of 70 MPH, both improvements of previous bests.

Preseason All-State (February 28, 2016)

Sean stands 5-foot-10, 155-pounds.  Offensively- Starts with a wide firm base and uses a small up-down stride.  Hands start high and create some steady incline throughout the zone with a high finish. Exit velocity increased to 81-mph.  Defensively- Set up slightly staggered and flashed a 2.25 pop time to second with consistent accuracy. McKinney shows a lot of upside for a 2019 and will certainly be one we keep tabs on through his process.

Western New York Open (July 23, 2015)

Stands at 5-foot-9, 150 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 4.99 Home to 1st from the right-hand side.  As a catcher, he throws with a high 3/4 arm action.  He receives the ball with smooth, soft hands and has a clean transfer.  He blocks the ball nicely and keeps everything in front of him.  His pop times were consistently at 2.38 down to second base.  His arm strength was at 65 MPH.  At the plate his setup is relaxed and balanced, short stride, with minimal back load.  His hands are compact, swinging on a level plane with good extension, with a shoulder finish through the ball.  His exit velocity was 74 MPH.
