Schinto stands in at 6-foot-0, 160-pounds with a tall and lean athletic frame. Ran an impressive 6.61 – 60, which is slightly improved from his previous best of 6.70 recorded in October 2016. Offensively- Lefty sets up slightly open with his feet shoulder width apart. His knees are bent with an upright torso while he holds his hands in front of his shoulder keeping his body and bat still prior to delivery. On pitch his trigger is a quick knee raise into a stride forward while his hands move back slightly into a good hitting position. Has quick hands into the hitting zone with good upward lift barrel action throughout into a high two handed finish. Utilizes whole lower body with good rotation on bottom half getting hips through and keep locked on front side. Demonstrated solid contact up the middle and pull side with the ability to drive the ball gap to gap. Very fundamental and fluid swing that looks effortless. Recorded an exit velocity of 84 MPH, a 7 MPH improvement from October 2016. Defensively- Athletic footwork getting to the baseball. Shows good fielding and crow hop mechanics gaining ground to target. Proper arm swing and release point for an outfielder and was accurate with throws into home. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 82 MPH, which is a 2 MPH improvement from October 2016.
Schinto, a 2018 left-handed hitting outfielder, stands at 6-foot-0 and weighs 160 pounds, ran an impressive 6.70 60. Offensively- Starts with an upright square stance with the hands above the back shoulder and barrel of the bat slightly more than 45-degrees. Initiates the swing with a lifting of the front foot while the hands use a slight buggy whip movement getting the barrel of the bat almost straight up and down. Displayed an ability to drive the ball from center field to the pull side line, showing an ability to stay inside the ball on the inner third and drive it with authority from the pull side gap to center field. Gets quality momentum through the ball, but could get a bit deeper with the back knee which would create more bat speed and improve the 77 MPH recorded on the day. Defensively- Showed the ability to get behind the ball with balls hit in the air, fielding it above the glove side shoulder using a clean transfer and longer arm action. Balls hit on the ground were approached a bit more cautiously with a more deliberate transfer slowing up the arm action. Recorded and arm velocity of 80 MPH on the day, however with more aggressive drive from the backside throws will increase the velocity as well as show more carry.
