6/28/21

Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-10, 155lber is a recent Queens College commit. 7.24 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Crouched, lower-postured stance with the hands pre-set in a comfortable position just above the shoulder. Utilized an easy trigger on time with a short lift and replace stride to launch through a flat, attacking path into the hitting zone. Found the barrel plenty during a solid batting practice round, staying inside the baseball with a balanced top of the order approach en route to a 44% line drive rate (via Trackman). Worked up to a near 300 foot batted ball distance with occasional doubles power and operated with confidence using good bat to ball skills (high contact, minimal swing/miss in game). Notched a T86 mph bat-exit velocity with room for more as he holds strength.

Defensively: The shortstop featured ready footwork that arrived on time to the spot; worked right-left, right-left and presented the glove at the fielding window, funneling accurately to the beltline and shuffling towards the target to gain momentum. Adequate pace and a quicker release from H ¾ slot across the diamond (78 mph arm, solid defender, second base consideration at the moment).

Pitching: RHP - The righty started off the middle, left side of the rubber with a breakneck pace in the delivery, got stacked at a higher, slightly hip-coiled position and down the slope efficiently on-time into footstrike, releasing with a fast arm through H ¾. The FB ranged from 80-82 mph with ability to pound the zone and some life out of the hand. Mixed a short, two-plane 66-69 mph CB with 11/5 shape and 2118 rpms of spin at his peak (some leverage). Added a commanded 72-74 mph SL for strikes at 2231rpms and 7+ inches of HM (via Trackman).

2/19/21

Physical: 5’10 155lb OF/MIF ran a 7.08 laser timed 60-yard dash. Athletic frame with room to add strength and size with time.

Offensively: He starts with a wide base and his hands in a loaded position. He uses a knee knocking leg kick and a small hand load to begin his timing mechanism before delivering the barrel straight to the ball. His barrel stays flat through the zone and has the ability to drive balls into his fullside gap consistently.

Defensively: He uses short choppy steps when approaching the ball which allows him to control his body throughout receiving the ball. His arm works short and quick from a ¾ arm slot. He shows solid athletic ability when moving to and through the ball when making plays in both the infield and outfield.
