Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows some effort. Displays downhill shoulders and an athletic balance point. Lands soft with a clean finish. Sat with his fastball at 85-86 mph. Shows slight running action. (Max spin 2127; Avg 2059). Throws a 1/7 curveball (71-73) with some sweeping action. (Max spin 2316; Avg 2198). His changeup (73-75) showed slight fading action.
Obvious arm talent. Athletic delivery, loose arm that we’ve generated fastball velocities up to 88mph. Sat mid 80s on this day. Complemented heater with a sharp, 1/7 breaking ball that was electric at times.

Aaron Pirkle: LHP/OF, (2022) New Albany, OH. 6-foot, 170-pound. Solid at the plate, Pirkle had an exit velocity of 89 mph. Began in an open stance with a smooth load, then used a controlled stride. Bat speed was above average, showed a simple loose swing plane and high finish. He found multiple barrels in his round. Gap to gap approach. Solid in the outfield, he used momentum and arm strength to record throws up to 88 mph;had sure hands, smooth athletic footwork, and a natural exchange. Had a high ¾ slot with a very quick arm action. Advanced on the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action while showing quick arm speed. Up-tempo type pitcher and shows some effort. Aaron Pirkle: LHP/OF, (2022) New Albany, OH.
5-foot-11, 165-pound. Solid during batting practice, Pirkle had a max exit velocity of 86 mph. Began in a crouched athletic stance with a smooth load, then used a short stride. Had a level swing plane and above average bat speed. Line drive approach. Solid in the outfield, he showed a plus arm and had life on his throws with a position velocity of 88 mph;had soft hands, consistent rhythmic footwork, and a fluid exchange. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.56. Above average on the mound, showed quick arm speed, he had a loose arm action with a ¾ arm angle. Slow-tempo type pitcher and shows easy effort. Changeup (68-69 mph).Produced a fastball that came in at 83-85 mph. Throws a 1/7 curveball (64-69).
Hit:Bat to follow in the 2022 class. Efficient pre-launch movements that create both balance and energy. Found the barrel often in BP, distributing the ball all around the yard. Natural tools are respectable and should only get louder as he fills out athletic frame. Solid round.

Hit: Smooth swinger with feel for contact. Natural tools are balanced. Tilts with torso to create lift. Intriguing hit tool for sure.
Power: 81 mph exit velocity off the bat. Gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.
Field: Plays with an uptempo pace in the outfield, getting too and through the baseball in a timely fashion. Ball skills are ahead of the curve for class.
Throw: Arm has a chance to be a well above average tool. 83 mph to home plate.
Defensive Projection: Corner OF.
2/17/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Relaxed tempo on the mound. Delivery requires little effort. Long, loose arm that will continue to see velo gains as he adds strength to frame.
Fastball: Topped 81 mph, mostly true through the zone. Almost certainly more velo in the tank.
Curveball: Above average offering, 1/7 shape, big pop out of the hand. 61-63 mph.
Changeup: More than playable third offering. Has feel for it/maintains arm speed.
Body Type: 5-foot-10, 155-pound frame.
Swing Mechanics: Left-handed hitter that incorporates a slight back load to hands during short stride for timing.
Hit: Creates uphill angles for barrel to travel on. Natural tools are above average for class, showing quick hands with strength through contact. All fields hitter. Another solid New Albany bat to keep an eye on.
Power: 82.1 was top exit velocity in BP.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.
Field: Plays fast to and through in the outfield. Ball skills are on par for his class.
Throw: Throws from over the top with loose arm action. Arm strength is still developing.
Defensive Projection: Corner outfield.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Show rhythm working at a quicker tempo through a compact delivery. Works out of a high-3/4 slot with some effort.
Fastball: Fastball works downhill with plus movement to the arm side. Sat 74-78 mph with more velocity in the tank.
Curveball: Breaking ball has a 1/7 shape with developing depth sitting 54-60 mph.
Changeup: At 65-66 mph, the changeup is thrown with fastball like arm speed and shows slight cutting action.
Pitchability: Strike thrower with feel for all of his pitches.

Two-way prospect. Southpaw on the bump with a slower paced tempo to his rhythmic delivery. Gets down the mound well with direction and energy. Slight closed landing with good extension leading to a release point out in front. Like the aggression/intent to each offerings. Fastball has natural run to it sitting 70-72 mph. Changeup is thrown with fastball arm speed showing dive to it at 58-60 mph. Completing his arsenal is a near 12/6 breaking ball thrown consistently for a strike at 54-59 mph. Liked what I saw from Pirkle at the plate. Lefty swinger with athletic actions in the box. Loose swing with noticeable whip through the zone with some loft to path. Impressive hand eye/feel for squaring up the baseball. Sprayed line drives all over the field. Very efficient swing with more in there as physical maturation takes its course. In the outfield he shows above average athleticism as he maintains fluidity throughout sequence. Corner type with accurate arm.
