RHP/OF, (2023) Olentangy Liberty, OH. 6-foot, 179-pound lean athletic build. Solid during batting practice, Gomez's best exit velocity was 93 mph. (68.3 mph bat speed average). (19.3 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced stance with a controlled compact load, then used a leg kick. Bat speed was quick, had a long level swing plane and low high finish. Barreled up multiple balls with some loud contact. (Max spin ; Avg ).
6-foot, 163-pound athletic frame. Solid at the plate, Gomez clocked an exit velocity of 83 mph. Began in a balanced stance with a quick load, then used a toe tap. Has above average bat speed, simple upward swing plane and high finish. During his round he produced loud contact and found multiple barrels. Pull side approach. Capable from the outfield, he showed the ability to throw at velocities up to 82 mph; had consistent footwork, consistent hands, and a clean exchange. Performed well in the 60-yard dash, clocking a speedy time of 6.85. Above average on the mound, showing good arm speed he used a quick arm action with a ¾ arm angle. Slow-tempo type pitcher who shows some effort. Displays even shoulders with a tall balance point. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 78-80 mph; had control low in the zone and running action. He shows tight action and in the zone command on his 12/6 curveball (67-69). Has arm side control and fading action on his changeup (71-72).
Hit:Athletic, open setup from the right side. Load comes together well/stays fluid into launch. Balanced swing with a slightly downhill path. Hand speed and physicality are comparable tools inside swing. Worked to all fields in BP with natural spin ability. Laced a double to the left-field wall in game.
Power:Line drive pop.
Offensive Projection:Multiple Roles.
Field:In the outfield he plays with an uptempo pace in his approach which he maintains throughout sequence. Nice, one-handed play through. Looks confident with above average ball skills.
Throw:Quick release, high-3/4 righty, respectable strength.
Defensive Projection:Multiple Spots.
