Swing mechanics: Smooth and simple load into his lower half while keeping his hands loose and loaded.
Hit: Backside approach with a level bat path, and gets inside the baseball well. Produces above average bat speed for his age.
Power: Pop to the pull side. True ball flight to the middle part of the field.
Offensive projection: TBD.
Field: Behind the dish, he features a quick transfer with developing footwork.
Throw: Developing arm strength with loose action.
Defensive Projection: UTL.
2/17/19
Body Type: 5-foot-10, 225 pounds.
Swing Mechanics: Wide based stance from this righty in the box. Has a bigger loading process followed by an uphill swing path.
Hit: Harder contact created pull-side when he swung it. Consistency is coming to promote driving the baseball to all fields.
Power: 82 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: Multiple roles.
Run: 8.77 60-yard. Field: 2.19-2.28 pop time. Receiving abilities showed well behind the plate along with a quick ball to hand transfer. Playable nice actions overall.
Throw: 69 mph from behind the plate. Defensive Projection: Catcher.
7/18/17 A 5-foot-10, 198-pound prospect. Swings it from the right side of the plate. Starts in a tall setup prior to his toe turn load. Hands move slightly back prior to taking an uphill path to the baseball. Bat speed is developing and strength stands out as his top tool. Would be aided by leveling out his bat path to see more consistent backspin. Drove a double in game play. Behind the plate he starts in a mid crouch. Exchange is smooth and arm action fits the position. Foot quickness will be his biggest area for improvement. Home to First: 5.11 Pop Time: 2.07-2.17 Catcher Velo: 68 Exit Velo: 88
5/31/17 A switch hitter at the plate. From the right side he starts balanced and uses a short stride to get things started. Hands move to launch prior to taking a mostly level path to the baseball. Stays fluid throughout swing sequence. Was at his best when he worked the middle of the field. From the left side he is similar mechanically with a more level path. Uses a middle away approach from the left side while flashing pop to his pull side. Has more juice from the right side at this stage. On the mound the right-hander has a smooth tempo to his repeatable delivery. Mechanically efficient and lands in line to home plate. Works through a high-¾ slot with short, clean arm action. Fastball was mostly straight through the zone at 70-72 mph. Breaking ball has a near 12/6 shape with gradual break 62-65. Also flashed a changeup near fastball arm speed at 66-68 mph.
