RHP/2B, (2023) Westerville North, OH. 5-foot-9, 165-pound. Solid on the mound, had a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with consistent arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses easy effort. He has downhill shoulders and a strong balance point. Lands soft with a clean finish. Threw his fastball 76-78 mph. Had slight running action. (Max spin 1929; Avg 1790). Has slurvey action on his 11/5 curveball (65-67). (Max spin 2230; Avg 2153).
Braden Lewis: RHP/2B, (2023) Westerville North, OH. 5-foot-9, 155-pound. On the mound, showing consistent arm speed he used a high ¾ arm angle and a quick arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses easy effort. Sat with his fastball at 78-80 mph. Has slight running action. (Max spin 1975; Avg 1892). His 11/5 curveball (64-67) has some sweeping action. Began in a balanced stance with a controlled load, then used a short stride. Bat speed was above average, used a short swing plane and level finish. He found multiple barrels in his rounds. Up the middle approach. On the mound, showing quick arm speed he had a compact arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Feel type pitcher and uses easy effort. Slider (63-65 mph). Sat with his fastball at 70-73 mph; has decent command and cutting action. Threw a 10/4 curveball with slurvey action.
Scouting Notes: Athletic mover on the mound with an easy delivery. Everything comes together well/he is able to repeat. Expect him to continue to develop more velocity as physical maturation takes its course considering how efficient he is. Fastball is mostly true through the zone and he tosses it around the zone with feel. Complements the fastball with an above average breaking ball that has a slurvish shape to it.
