8/6/17 The left-handed pitching prospect brings an athletic, projectable build to the mound. Starts his delivery with a front foot deep back step. Works into a slower tempo pace as he approaches his leg kick. Creates solid energy from a strong back hip downhill drive. Works through a ¾ arm slot. Very impressive pitchability, showing a mid 80s fastball and two near plus breaking balls. Noticeable jump in velocity from when we saw him in the winter. Curveball is a sharp, brig breaker that works on an 11/5 plane. Throws the slider firm, giving it impressive depth before it darts across the zone. Both pitches have swing and miss to them. Has a chance to be an immediate impact guy at the next level. FB: 82-85 CB: 68-70 SL: 74-76
2/19/17
The 5-foot-10, 155 pound southpaw uses a quick, deceptive delivery that will get on top of hitters quickly. Throws through a high ¾ arm slot and shows feel for three different pitches. His fastball consistently sits between 77-81 mph and displays some significant cutting action. Best offspeed pitch is his 66-68 mph curveball; pitch shows good depth while breaking sharply on a 1/7 plane. Also mixes in a 66-68 mph changeup thrown with near fastball arm speed.
7/28/15 5-foot-9, 140-pound athletic build. Left-handed hitter that has a leg to load with a flat swing. Shows some power to pull side especially for his age. Registered top exit velocity of 74 mph and was 4.58 down the line. In the outfield he shows a good run thru with a solid crow hop to gain momentum. Throws from a high-3/4 slot with 80 mph arm strength. On the mound the southpaw has an uptempo delivery with a short stride and good direction. Throws from a high-3/4 slot with fastball sitting 76-79 mph and good command. Has good feel for his breaking ball at 65-68 mph with 1/7 tilt. Has a solid performance on the mound with 3 strikeouts.
9/29/19 Body Type: 6-foot-2, 197-pound uber physical frame. Swing Mechanics: Easy movements in the box that sync up well together. Hit: Fluid swinger that has the natural tools to generate impressive jump without a ton of effort. One of the more physical bats we saw on the day. Looks the part in the box. Impressive round. Power: 92 mph exit velocity. Top bat speed/combination we saw on the day. Has all the tools to grow into regular power. Offensive Projection: Impact/Run Producer. Run: 6.89 60-yard dash. Field: Plays with smooth actions with some bounce to his step. Looks like he has an infielder background. Ball skills are above average. Also worked out at third base where he has a more than serviceable skill set as well. Slightly more projectable as an outfielder at this stage. Throw: Low 80s velocity from both spots. Average arm strength presently with likely more in the tank. Could easily see him winding up as a mid to upper 8s arm from either spot before it’s all said and done. Defensive Projection: Corner Guy. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Uptempo left-hander with athleticism on the bump. Drop and drive type guy with a delivery that requires regular effort. Compact/fast arm. Fastball: Ball gets on you. Looks like a high spin rate guy. Mid 8s throughout outing, topping at 88 mph. Breaking Ball: Big, 1/7 shaped breaker with big action. Disrupts timing and has sharp bite to it, consistently missing barrels. Pitch was nasty at times. Changeup: Maintains arm speed with quality, late fade to it. Above average offering. Pitchability: Showed feel for all three. Additional Comments: Definitely some arm talent here. Looks to be a true three pitch guy with respectable velocity and quality secondary stuff. Legit two-way potential. Wright State transfer.
