6-foot, 180 pound outfielder has an athletic body with a strong arm at 84 mph from the OF. Zuppe’s quick feet enable him to get in a good fielding position and create momentum into his throws. His glove was solid as he fielded each attempt cleanly. Also displayed running ability with a 6.9 60. Showed bat speed by hitting 91 on the radar gun which backs up the power we saw in his batting practice rounds. Stays on and through ball making strong contact. Aided by his hips firing allowing him to hit it to all sides with pop. Max effort player with good skills and a high ceiling.
1/27/18
In the outfield he plays under control in his approach. Plays two-handed through the baseball to ensure ball security. An average to slightly above average defender presently. Athleticism shows most at the plate. A lefty bat that uses an aggressive stride for timing while keeping hands simple prior to launch. Path is slightly downhill and swing is compact. Impressive pop/ball flight when he stays through contact but has a tendency to get around the baseball. Interesting prospect who should garner college attention with his athleticism, arm and left-handed hit tool.

Exit Velocity: 91
1/28/17 5-foot-11, 170-pound prospect. At the plate, the left-handed hitter starts in a bit of a crouch. Pull tendencies in his swing with uphill path to the ball. Obvious quickness in his hands. Top exit velocity of 90 mph off the tee. Room to improve with better use of his lower half. Ran a 4.71 home to first time. From the outfield, he showed a top velocity of 78 mph. Long arm action with some length to his transfer. Footwork has room to improve as he creates fluidity and plays through the ball.
