2/3/18

A two-way prospect that stood out in all facets of his game. On the hill the right-hander uses lower ¾ arm action that lead to overall good command with three of his pitches. FB was 76-79 mph and was kept at the knees for the majority of throws. CB had good break with tight spin at 64-66 while also locating it well. Loeschen also kept his CH low consistently with good glove-side downward movement. Defensively, he looked the part at third base. Feet are quick and glove works. Plays fast with the ability to vary tempo as hop dictates. Great sliding play to backhand side. Behind the dish he has quick feet and a clean exchange. Put the ball on the bag with carry to his throws. A run producer type bat who creates energy through athletic, well timed movements. Swings with intent on a level path, displaying a balanced strength/bat speed combination. Both tools project to be above average. Flashed gap pop in BP with signs of power to come.

2/3/18
5-foot-10, 175 righty had a good, lower ¾ arm action that lead to overall good command with three of his pitches. FB was 76-79 mph and was kept at the knees for the majority of throws. CB had good break with tight spin at 64-66 while also locating it well. Loeschen also kept his CH low consistently with good glove-side downward movement. A couple times prior to his stride foot landing his front side opened up early causing his arm to lag. Wasn’t a big concern, but it threw off some accuracy the times he did. Threw strikes and performed well at the event.

6/20/17

A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Keeps his hands simple during his short stride forward. Stronger than he is fast with the bat at this stage. Barrel has some whip to it while working on a level path. Middle of the lineup type guy that can drive the gaps. Behind the plate he starts in a mid crouch. Gets out of his crouch well, showing quickness to his footwork. Transfer is above average. Solid catch and throw guy. On the mound the right-hander works exclusively from the stretch. Uses an eases, high left lift to load his lower half. Arm action is long and clean. Ball comes out of his hand well and delivery requires little effort. Fastball showed arm side run and sits 75-78 mph. Spins a 10/4 shaped breaking ball that was anywhere 61-66 mph. The pitch showed signs of sharpness with some depth. Also showed a changeup that had run and sink at 69-71 mph. A strike thrower that was consistently in the zone with all offerings.

2/5/17
5-foot-9, 169-pound prospect. On the mound the right-hander showed a fluid tempo to a delivery that requires little effort. Arm action is clean and he works through a high-¾ slot. Mechanically efficient, expect any added strength to translate to added velocity. He sat 77-79 mph with his fastball, topping at 80 mph. His best secondary offering was his 11/5 shaped breaking ball. The pitch was sharp at times, with depth at 60-64 mph. Also flashed a changeup at 58-61 mph. Had decent feel for the pitch. Behind the plate he showed quickness to both his footwork and his transfer. Consistently put his throws on the bag to second base. At the plate he initiates loading sequence through a knee pinch load. Hands move to launch prior to taking a level path to the baseball. Has some quickness to his bat. Tends to get to front side prior to swing decision, would like to see a more controlled stride prior to weight transfer. At third base he takes direct routes and fields the ball in the middle of his body. Moves well laterally and showed confidence in his glove. Threw across the infield with 74 mph arm strength.

1/24/16
5-foot-8, 150-pound athletic build. At the plate, he starts with an even stance. Gains a lot of ground on the load getting forward momentum. Hands drift back slightly on the load, getting good separation. Swings on an even plane through the zone. Registered a top exit velocity of 72 mph. From behind the plate he shows good footwork. Throws from a high ¾ slot with 67 mph arm strength. Pop times ranging 2.28-2.35. In the infield he shows good footwork, throws from a high ¾ slot with 69 mph arm strength. On the mound he shows good direction to the plate, landing on line at foot strike and finishing square to the plate. Comes to a balance point at the top of his delivery before continuing with easy effort. Throws from a high ¾ slot with the fastball sitting 66-71 mph. Curveball sits 55-58 with gradual break on an 11/5 plane. Changeup sits 62-63 mph with good fade.
