2/22/20

2/22/20 Position Player
Hit: Athletic stance with fluid motion throughout swing. Presents quick bat speed while creating contact anywhere in the zone. Ball flies off bat.
Power: 97mph exit velo with a max distance of 372 feet.
Offensive Projection: Line drive run producer.
Field: Quick fluid footwork in the infield while staying low in an athletic position throughout the throw.

7/09/19

Body Type:  6-foot-2, 160-pound thin frame.
Swing Mechanics:  Tall set-up with a small leg kick that gets his hands engaged well.
Hit:  Level bat path with a pull side approach.  Swings with intent, and produces backspin to the gaps.
Power: 85.9 off the bat in BP. Line drive guy with gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles. Swing works. Interesting to see how pop increases as he adds strength to frame.
Field: Rangy defender with smooth actions in the infield. Plays low throughout with solid ball skills. Above average defender in general.
Throw: Whippy arm with present strength and more to come.
Defensive Projection: Left side of infield.

5/28/19

Body Type:  6-foot-2, 155-pound projectable frame.
Swing Mechanics:
Closed stance, quick hands works around the ball at times.
Hit:
Aggressive swings, barrel worked in and out of the zone. Showed occasional line drive potential.

Doesn’t generate much loft on the baseball. 83 mph exit velocity.

4.62 H to 1st.
Field:
Smooth, confident actions. Plays thru the ball, looks like a reliable defender.
Throw:
83 mph on throws across the diamond.
Defensive Projection:
Strong defender with good arm, should remain on left side of the infield.
Additional Comments: A lot to like here. Very nice tool set at the plate and in the field. Will be an interesting following moving forward.

2/16/19

Body Type: 6-foot-2, 150 pounds. Taller, thin frame with room to grow.
Swing Mechanics: Hits from a wide stance producing a knee to knee load. Shorter bat path that is slightly uphill. Generates momentum well in his swing too.
Hit: Produced nice contact overall staying on several pitches with barrel action.
Power: 86 mph exit velocity. Definite pop in his bat especially for age showing it more back-side right now. More to come as he grows too.
Offensive Projection: TBD.
Run: 4.52 seconds home to first.
Field:  Has average glovework while fielding it as he can work to come through the ball more efficiently. Footwork is improving with fluidity. Showed some shots of athleticism. Upside in this young athlete.
Throw: 78 mph across the diamond. Arm strength is a big tool of his right now which and expect that to improve over the next couple years.
Defensive Projection: Middle infield with ability to be a corner guy too.

11/10/18

A righty swinger that starts in a balanced setup. Uses a leg lift for timing while barrel moves to a vertical launch position. Swing is level with noticeable whip through the zone. Wiry strong with even more pop to come as he develops physically. Solid round. Rangy infielder with the ability to create angles. Does a nice job of playing low while maintaining rhythm through fielding. Soft hands with solid ball skills. Will use multiple arm angles with enough strength for the left side of the infield.

60 yard dash: 7.79
Infield Velocity: 78
Exit Velocity: 74

5/29/18

A right-handed bat that starts in a balanced setup. Barrel starts and launches from a vertical position. Uses a leg kick for timing/energy with lower half. Shows above average natural tools through the zone for class on a slightly downhill plane. Ball comes off well, showing gap abilities in BP. A rangy infielder that reacts well off the bat. Plays the ball nicely, out in front of his body inside funnel. On the move he keeps ball skills and can use multiple arm angles. Lateral mobility is developing.

Home to 1st: 4.65
Infield Velocity: 75
Exit Velocity: 76

1/30/18

Plays under control in the infield, showing quiet feet and soft hands. Fields the ball well, out in front of his body. Gains ground during transfer and threw with accuracy across the diamond. Swings it from the right-side starting in a balanced setup. Uses a knee pinch for timing during his hands back load. Swing is compact working on a slightly downhill plane. Faster than he is strong with the bat at this stage. A contact type bat presently with more to come.

Home to First: 4.75
Infield Velocity: 73
Exit Velocity: 77

12/03/17

Ran a 7.63 60-yard dash. A righty swinger that starts in a balanced setup. Weight shift back to forward during loading sequence. Barrel launches from a vertical position, giving him natural whip through the zone. Swing is efficient and any added strength should translate to added pop. An all fields hitter that can produce backspin regularly. Line drive type guy in general. Pop shows louder than 68 mph exit velocity would indicate. A sure-handed infielder that moves light on his feet. Glove skills are apparent in and out of his funnel. Lateral mobility is above average for class. Showed enough arm to stay on the left side of the infield at 74 mph.

3/19/16
5-foot-5, 100-pound prospect. Carter starts in a wide setup at the plate and uses a toe tap load and stride to efficiently get his lower half involved. Showed some strength and batspeed through the zone while taking an uphill path to the ball. Registered a top exit velocity of 64 mph off the tee. Very solid mechanically in the outfield, he uses athletic footwork to approach the ball and plays through it nicely. From a high-¾ slot he threw with 54 mph arm strength to home plate. In the infield he showed some softness to his hands and moved well laterally. Has a tendency to field the ball somewhat deep into his body. Showed off 52 mph arm strength across the infield and ran an 8.86 60-yard dash.
