(20.4 mph hand speed average). Starts in an athletic stance with a quick load, then uses a controlled small leg kick. Had a simple upward swing plane, quick bat speed and good extension on his finish. Athletic showed his live arm in the infield with position velocities up to 90 mph; had rhythmic footwork, a natural exchange, and soft hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Showed a quick arm action with a high ¾ slot. Showed his athleticism during the event with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.84.
Connor Hutchinson: SS/RHP, (2023) Troy, OH. 6-foot, 165-pound. Solid capable during batting practice, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 89 mph. (68.84 mph bat speed average). (20.26 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth load, then uses a small leg kick. Had above average efficient bat speed, level loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. Line drive approach. Athletic in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 89 mph; showed soft hands, a natural clean exchange, and athletic in control feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Had a compact arm action with some accuracy to the base. Performed well in the 60-yard dash, clocking a speedy time of 6.82. Athletic smooth on the mound, showing quick arm speed he had a loose clean arm action with a high ¾ arm angle. Up-tempo type pitcher who uses easy effort. Showed an athletic balance point. Sat with his fastball at 82-86 mph. Shows heavy movement. (Max spin 2095; Avg 1996). He showed a 11/5 sharp curveball (70-74). (Max spin 2397; Avg 2238).
Connor Hutchinson: SS/RHP, (2023) Troy, OH. 6-foot, 160-pound. Solid at the plate, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 89 mph. (61.64 mph bat speed average). Found multiple barrels through his round. Line drive approach. Athletic showed his live arm in the infield with position velocities up to 89 mph; had a natural clean exchange, soft hands, and athletic footwork. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Showed a compact arm action with consistent accuracy to the base. Solid on the mound, showed some arm speed, also used a long arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Feel type pitcher and shows easy effort. He has even shoulders and a consistent balance point. Lands soft with a clean finish. Changeup (75-76 mph). Threw his fastball 86-89 mph. Showed running action. 11/5 curveball (73-76).
Connor Hutchinson: SS/RHP, (2023) Troy, OH. 6-foot, 160-pound. Solid at the plate, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 84 mph. Starts in a tall balanced stance with a controlled small load, then uses a short stride. In the round he found some barrels. Line drive approach. Solid in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 87 mph; had athletic footwork, soft hands, and a natural fluid exchange. Glovework was used out front. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.06.
Hit:Very smooth athletic loader. Balanced swinger with feel for contact. Impressive round, showing a combination of burst/barrel awareness combo not always shown by 2023s. 90mph exit velo in BP.
Power:Easy gap abilities.
Offensive Projection:Multiple Roles.
Field:Solid defender. Actions are athletic and he has feel for his hands/feet. Showcased the combination of being mechanically sound with athleticism to feet.
Throw:Well above average strength.

Scouting Notes:Good athlete on the mound who is one to follow as he develops physically. Arm works and he has feel for his entire arsenal. Was in the zone throughout his outing. A guy who's going to continue to add velocity as he adds strength.

Field:High ceiling as an infielder. Smooth with feel for his feet and a slick glove guy. One of the top middle guys we saw on the day.
Throw:Loose arm wtih present strength and more on the way.
Defensive Projection:MIF.

Delivery Notes: Showed a clean arm action and a ‘tall and fall’ type of delivery from a ¾ arm slot.
Fastball: Fastball was 75-78 mph and true through the zone.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1500-1700
Curveball: Breaking ball showed slurvey shape and spin at 63-64 mph.
Curveball Spin Rate: 1900-2100
Changeup: Changeup was 67 mph and showed some depth at times.
Pitchability: Average feel for his three pitch mix. Changeup appeared to be the better of his two secondary offerings.
1/20/20 Position Player
Hit: At the plate he starts with an upright setup before gliding into a balanced launch. Path is level/finds plane early. Developing natural tools w/present feel for contact. All fields approach in BP.
Power: Much more to come as he fills out.

Field: Impressive skill set in the nifeld for a prospect his age. Moves very well/rangy defender. Ball skills stood out and he showed the ability to make plays on the move.
Throw: Clean, loose arm that will support easy added MPHs as he matures physically.
