6-foot-1, 170 pounds with an athletic frame; possible 2 way prospect. From the outfield he shows above average arm strength from a high ¾ slot with a velocity of 84mph. Left handed hitter that shows good bat speed with a flat bat path that shows power to pull side. On the mound Dominic throws through a high 3/4 slot with his fastball sitting 84-87 topping out at 88 with good arm side run and some sink. He spins his curveball with 11 to 5 action at 67-69, his slider at 71 and a changeup at 66-67.
8-5-2018: Strong and stiff with a 6’1/190 frame, Canzone has an unorthodox swing that produces consistent, hard contact. The stiffness in his actions remind me of Hunter Pence. Has very strong hands/wrists with good hand/eye. From a spread stance, he stays connected well, takes the bat to the ball and uses all fields. Good bat strength produces average-to-above raw power. Below average arm, average runner underway with solid instincts on the basepaths. Canzone’s tools/abilities package profiles best to left field at the next level. He’s another college bat who has a long history of hitting throughout his career. Analytics will love him, and he will likely be considered during Day Two of the 2019 draft. (Seifert)
