1/26/19

Body Type: 5-foot-10 165-pound athletic build prospect. Still room to fill out.

Swing Mechanics: Uses a leg kick load to initiate his swing. Showed quick hands with an uphill bat path.

Hit: Good ability to hit to all fields, seemed to have more a pull tendency at times.

Power: 88 mph exit velo with some good natural lift to his swing. Gap power currently.

Offensive Projection: Fills the offensive role of what you need from a solid defensive catcher.

Run: 4.69 home to 1st

Field: Showed good footwork and a quick arm behind the plate. Pop time between 2.00 and 2.17.

Throw: 71 mph from behind the plate

Defensive Projection: Shows good skill and footwork behind the plate. Will benefit from adding more raw arm strength. Definitely ability to add velo to the arm.

9/24/17
A right-handed bat that gets things going with a toe turn load. Hands stay relatively simple prior to launch. Loading sequence creates consistent timing and adequate energy. Swing is compact and Ballauer displayed barrel awareness. A regular gap threat who’s bat can play a variety of roles inside the lineup. Looked solid in the infield as well. Hands are soft and he plays through the baseball with above average ball skills. Would be aided by creating angles in his pre-fielding footwork to play through the baseball more efficiently on plays inside his funnel. Actions are athletic on the move and he retains glove skills.

3/19/16
5-foot-8, 130-pound prospect with athletic frame. On the mound the righty has a slower paced tempo with a delivery his able to repeat. Working through a high-¾ slot Dylan has a three pitch mix in his arsenal with his fastball sitting 63-66 mph. Throws a power curveball that has some sharpness to it at 55-57 mph. Also mixed in a changeup near fastball armspeed at 58-61 mph. At the plate Dylan starts in an athletic setup and is able to create positive energy into contact through an efficient load and aggressive stride. Gets good whip through the zone and was able to produce consistent line drives in batting practice. Registered a top exit velocity of 73 mph. Short arm action with top velocity of 65 mph. Average hands and feet. Tendency to get tall early and stop momentum upon fielding the ball. Needs to keep playing through the ball and become more fluid. Ran an 8.15 60-yard dash.
