6-foot-4, 240-pound prospect. Projects best as a pitcher at the next level but showed well at the plate as well. A very projectable right-hander on the mound. Works through an over the top slot with a lower effort delivery. Ball comes out of his hand well with his fastball sitting 84-86 mph. Also flashed a two seam that showed substantial run while maintaining velocity. Breaking ball was sharp at times with a 12/6 shape at 71-72 mph. Needs to be in the zone more consistently. Also showed a changeup that had similar action to his fastball. Hammerberg showed off the most raw power at the event. Has room to clean some things up mechanically but the ball looks different coming off his bat. Consistently made hard contact in batting practice, while driving a few balls that looked to be no doubters to his pull side. Worked out at third base as well. Tends to field the ball flat footed. Has room to improve fluidity of his footwork and create momentum towards first base. Plenty of arm strength. Top velocity of 82 mph across the infield.
