Game Performance

6/7/16
6-foot, 182-pound athletic frame. What a difference a year made for Evan Miller. While competing in the same event last year Miller sat 82-85 mph with his fastball. This year he consistently sat 88-90 mph with heavy run at times. Miller has loose arm action with little effort to a delivery he is able to repeat. The righty also spins a tight breaking ball and has feel for a changeup. He was the top performer of the event on the mound.

6/8/15
5-foot-11, 165-pound athletic body frame. From the infield he uses good footwork to approach ground balls and fields the ball out front nicely with his hands bringing them into his body. He throws with a clean, short arm action coming from a ¾ slot, while reaching a top velocity of 82 mph across the infield. Right-handed hitter starts from an open stance getting himself squared back up to being even before he swings. He uses a slight hands back, fluid load and swings with a flat bat path through the zone. Finishes with a two-handed follow through. Showed the ability to use both sides of the field during his round of batting practice, while swinging with a top exit velocity of 84 mph. He ran an 8.13 60-yard dash. On the mound he uses a slower paced delivery that requires some effort. He uses simple, repeatable mechanics with a little shoulder tilt for leverage. He lands in a straight line at foot strike. Throws using just above average arm speed through a ¾ slot. His fastball was between 82-85 mph with some arm-side run. His curveball was at 64-65 mph with gradual break at an 11/5 plane. He flashed a changeup using fastball arm speed at 71-72 mph.

2/7/15
5-foot-10, 164-pound athletic build. From the infield he projects as a 3B type with soft hands and limited range. Has a very quick arm with 82 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts open and gets to even. Leg kick to load with a flat path and showed some power to the pull side with 82 mph exit velocity and ran 4.66 home to first. He projects more on the mound at the next level. Has a quick tempo delivery with a short, quick arm from a ¾ slot. Fastball sat 82-84 mph with some late life and run to it. Breaking ball gets big at times with a slurvy 10/4 break at 71-73 mph. Also, showcased a changeup that is a little hard and erratic at 76 mph.
