Notes

Comments

2/17/19

Body Type: 6-foot-1, 180-pound athletic frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Everything works well. Athletic delivery with a ton of feel out there.
Fastball: 81-83 mph. Starting to see velo creep up and up. Not a matter of if but when with him.
Curveball: 68-71 mph. Well above average offering. 1/7 shaped breaking ball with big action. Pitch has some swing and miss to it.
Changeup: 75-76 mph. Good pitch. Fastball look out of the hand before showing some late dive to it.
Pitchability: Through the roof. Has feel for everything and can move the ball around the zone with all three.
Additional Comments: True three pitch guy with more velocity to come. Continues to be one of the bigger sleepers in the ‘20 class. Scholarship arm talent who carves everytime we see him.

2/17/19

Swing Mechanics: This lefty hits from a wider, open stance having a bigger loading process while producing bat speed. Generates energy very well in his swing leading to an uphill swing path.
Hit: Lots of noise created in his round as the barrel was contacted hard and constantly. Powerful swing that has more room to add as he grows.
Power: 90 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: Middle of the lineup.
Run: 7.42 60-yard.
Field: Glove showed nicer ability in the outfield fielding each one cleanly. Footwork shows progressing mobility and quickness. At first base he displayed softer hands showing his glovework well. Moves well as first base and seems more comfortable at the position.
Throw: 82 mph from the outfield. Accuracy on throws too.
Defensive Projection: First base.

6/13/18

A southpaw with above average athleticism and a clean delivery. Shows physical signs of more velocity to come. Filled up with the zone with three above average offerings, fastball sitting 79-81 mph. Tosses a 1/7 breaking ball with feel and a changeup that was one of the better ones we saw on the day.

2/18/18

6-foot, 170 pound outfielder displayed nice footwork in getting to the side of the ball when attacking it. Fielding ability was average with the glove which is developing. Throwing velocity to home was 77 mph. At the plate he swings it from the right side showing a smooth, compact stroke. Barrel travels on a level plane with noticeable strength to hands at contact. Generates regular backspin working through an all fields approach. More frequently showed line drive abilities but also flashed gap pop in BP. Athletic southpaw with a projectable build on the bump. Delivery is up tempo and fluent. Throws from a ¾ slot and keeps momentum downhill. Gets the most out of his lower half. Fastball shows some late life at 77-79 mph. Spins a 1-7 breaking ball with gradual break at 64-65 mph. Changeup has a slight drop action at 68-69 mph. Tends to slow his arm down on the offering but minimally. Rounds out his arsenal with a cutter that has decent side to side action coming in at 65-66 mph. Threw with command to both sides of the plate with his primary offerings.

60-yard dash: 7.51
Outfield Velocity: 77
Exit Velocity: 82

9/30/17

A two-way prospect in the 2020 class. Impressed with athleticism/pitchability on the bump. Delivery has good tempo to it and he is able to repeat. Arm is very loose and arm action is clean. Arm works through an in between high-¾ and ¾ slot.  Combination of lower half landing and release point create a tough angle for opposing hitters. Fastball was 73-76 mph on this day and we recently saw him up to 79 mph. Expect more velocity to come with physical maturity. Spins a tight breaking ball that has sweeping action to it across the zone. Puts good spin on the pitch at 65-67 mph. Also displayed feel for his changeup at 67-69 mph. Stuff wise it looks to be an above average offering, showing late fade. Swings it from the right-side. Starts open and gets back to even with a smooth leg lift and controlled stride. Barrel starts on shoulder before loading back to launch. Path is level and swing is compact. Line drive type guy who does a nice job of staying inside the baseball. More pop to come. Registered an exit velocity of 81 mph. In the outfield he looks fluid and does a nice job of getting the hop he wants prior to attacking it. Plays through the baseball with above average ball skills. Just like on the mound expect more arm strength to come. Topped out at 77 mph to home plate. Ran a 7.6 60-yard dash.

12/11/16

An athletic southpaw with a loose arm projectable frame. Peters was anywhere from 72-74 mph with his fastball, topping at 75 mph. Frame, athleticism, and arm action suggest much more velocity to come. His curveball is the better of his two breaking balls but slider is playable as well. Also showed feel for a changeup. In the outfield he shows textbook footwork and maintains momentum through fielding into his throws. Has a good feel for the outfield and is very sure handed. Showed off 77 mph arm strength to home plate with accuracy. Also worked out at first base where he brings athleticism to the position. Moves off the bag well and has solid glove skills. A right-handed hitter that has the tools to be a productive hitter. Strength and bat speed are well above average for his age. Has room to grow mechanically to allow those tools to show up consistently in his offensive game. Ball came off his bat well and he consistently found the barrel in batting practice. Reached a top exit velocity of 77 mph.
