Swing Mechanics: Uses a toe tap load from a balanced stance. Shows a downhill bat path.
Hit: Average bat to ball ability.
Power: 86 mph exit velocity. Offensive Projection: Shows some solid raw power and athleticism for a 2021. Should at least develop into a guy with gap to gap power.
Field: At first base he showed average footwork and solid feel around the bag with pretty good hands. Throw: 78 mph across the diamond.
Run: 4.75 home to first. Defensive Projection: Shows the physicality and enough skill to play 1B at the next level.
2/10/19 Pitching
Body Type: 6-foot-4 225-pound prospect with a projectable frame. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Fluid delivery, creates some tilt through a hip load. Works in good direction. Shows ability to repeat. Fastball: 80-83 mph fastball works out of a ¾ slot. The pitch is mostly straight while working on a downward plane. Did show occasional run when thrown arm side.
Curveball: 60-61 mph curveball shows early with gradual break with 1/7 shape.
Slider: 70-71 mph slider has tight rotation with downer movement. The pitch tunnels with fastball and looks like a future swing and miss option. Changeup: 70-73 mph changeup is thrown with deceptive arm speed and slight cutting action. Pitchability: Shows good feel for all four offerings. Fastball/slider looks to be a well above average combo moving forward. Feel for the change is above average at this stage. Role: Starter. Velocity should improve in the coming years. Shows good feel and the potential for two above average secondary pitches.
7/17/18 6-foot-4 physical frame with more physical maturation to go. Gets down the mound well and with his length creates a tough plane on hitters. Fastball comes out well, sitting 78-79 mph. The pitch stays mostly true through the zone. Isn’t afraid to come in with the heater. Should have more in the tank. Breaking ball is developing feel wise and stuff wise. Looked more comfortable with the changeup that had fade while maintaining fastball arm speed 67-68 mph. Frame, being left-handed and velocity alone will put him on recruiting boards and he has a chance to be a high velocity type guy once it all comes together. A lefty swinger that starts in a tall stance. Physical bat from the left side. Load is simple yet efficient. Balanced swing with noticeable authority through the zone. Really does damage when barrel gets a running start. Middle of the lineup bat with pull side pop. Had a multi hit day in game highlighted by a triple to right-center. First baseman with ideal frame for the spot. Moves well off the bag with fluid actions. Still growing into frame but looks to have feel and understanding of the position. Looks to be a solid defender now and should only get better as physical maturation takes its course. Home to 1st: 5.0 Infield Velocity: 72 Exit Velocity: 82
6/13/18 A left-handed bat that start in a tall, open setup. Goes with a leg kick for timing, showing a slight back load with hands at release. Front foot hitter that takes a slightly downhill path to contact. Stronger than he is fast with the bat presently. Drove the ball well when barrel got a running start. On the mound the southpaw has a slower paced, low effort delivery. Rolls through his chest high leg lift into his drop and drive load. Arm moves through a high-¾ slot with the fastball sitting 74-78 mph. Spins a big, gradually breaking curveball on a 1/7 plane at 57-58 mph. Home to 1st: 5.13 Infield Velocity: 62 Exit Velocity: 83
