2/18/18
6-foot-4, 190 pound catching prospect with a taller, lean build catches out of a narrow stance. Displayed nice footwork and can improve in quickness getting to a strong throwing position after popping out of his stance. Ball to hand transfer was nice and create some fluidity. Received it very well beating balls to their spots each time and sticking them. Showed nice arm strength with a 74 mph throwing velocity down to second base. Pop times were quick at 1.96-2.07 seconds. In the infield he showed quick, efficient footwork getting into a nice field stance and displaying average hands while fielding it. His throwing velocity across the diamond at 78 mph. In the outfield his footwork was average and improving on routes taken to the ball. Fielded it well with no mistakes. Showed a stronger arm in the outfield with an 84 mph velocity to home plate. Really liked what I saw in the box. The righty brings upside to the plate. A strong kid with above average bat speed through the zone. Swing has some rawness but with his length and burst he can really do damage when he finds the barrel. Actions need refined on both sides of the ball but there's a ton to work with. Colleges in need of 2018s should take a hard look at Connery.

1/28/17
6-foot-3, 205-pound physical prospect with obvious strength to his frame. From the crouch, he shows average footwork. Stays low through his transfer. Arm action is short. Top velocity of 73 mph on his throws with pop times ranging from 2.12 to 2.19. From the outfield, he showed strength in his arm with top velocity of 80 mph. Short arm action through high ¾ slot. Has accuracy to his throws. Likely a corner type due to footwork and overall athleticism. At the plate, he starts from a narrow stance. Heavy on his front side. Takes uphill path to the ball. Path can have some length to it. Top exit velocity of 84 mph off the tee. Ran a 4.93 home to first time.

6/13/16
6-foot-2, 180-pound strong, athletic frame. Stronger than he his fast with the bat at this stage. Gets efficient use out of his lower half through a toe turn load. Hands stay simple before taking a very downhill path to the ball. Flattening out his swing would help him make flush contact more often. Reached a top exit velocity of 82 mph and ran a 5.2 down the line. Behind the plate he has some flexibility in his hips and quickness to his feet. Arm strength is developing as he threw with 70 mph velocity to second base. Expect that number to rise with maturity. Pop times ranged from 2.03-2.19.

2/15/16
A very projectable build at 6-foot-2, 180-pounds. At the plate he starts in a very narrow, upright set up. Keeps his hands simple during his high leg kick. Would like to see him have a more efficient weight transfer as he tends to get down very early losing some of that energy he creates through his leg kick. Using a slightly downhill path he was able to reach a top exit velocity of 81 mph. Behind the plate he uses adequate footwork while doing a good job of squaring himself to his target. Pop times ranged from 2.18-2.35, and he threw with 71 mph arm strength to second base. Ran a 5.19 from home to first.

10/4/15
6-foot-2, 170-pound strong athletic build. At the plate he uses a very high leg kick load to generate power. Uses a hands back load and dives into the swing. Swings on an even plane. Shows the ability to drive the baseball. Registered a top exit velocity of 79 mph. Behind the plate, he shows average footwork and exchange into his throws. Registered a positional velocity of 69 mph. Pop times ranging 2.38-2.53. Ran a 8.25 60 yard dash.

9/25/19
Swing Mechanics: Very smooth, efficient movements.

Hit: Upside bat with a ton of tools to work with. Efficient path with an all fields approach. Knows how to manipulate lower half to create both energy and balance. Offers an impressive combination of intent and barrel control.
Power: Far from from ceiling but already offers impressive jump off barrel. Showed the ability to leave the yard in BP.
Offensive Projection: High upside/Run producer potential.
Run: 7.28
Field: Athletic backstop that is a big target back there. Has some room to clean up but the size, athleticism and arm strength are all very intriguing tools.
Throw: Impressive arm. Ball jumps with carry through target.
Defensive Projection: C.
