He displayed an efficient, repeatable delivery that generates an upper 80’s fastball, mostly sitting at 87. He showed good run to the pitch. He uses two breaking balls. His curveball has more two-lane action at 71-73 mph while his slider is a tick higher at 75 mph with more of a slurvey shape to it. He also uses a 74 mph changeup with fade down in the zone.
6/6/16 6-foot-2, 165-pound projectable frame. A talented two way prospect with a future on the mound but has some tools that make him attractive as a position player as well. Starting in a wide setup he uses a short stride for timing while taking his hands back. Has fluidity to his loading sequence. Average batspeed at this stage. Stayed inside the ball in batting practice producing line drives to the middle of the field. Registered an exit velocity of 87 mph and ran a 7.41 60-yard dash. Possess skill set to stay on the left side of the infield. His arm is his best attribute. Top velocity of 88 mph across the infield. Needs to keep his hands closer to his body. He tends to get them away from his body. Still shows above average defensive skills. On the mound he has good tempo to a delivery that requires some effort. 4/4/16 Stover has an athletic, projectable build at 6-foot-2, 165-pounds. The right-hander had a solid performance in harsh weather conditions against a tough Hilliard Darby lineup. From a high-¾ slot he sat 82-85 mph, topping at 86 mph with his fastball. His fastball was complemented by a sharp, 12/6 curveball at 69-71 mph. He gave up 5 earned runs but if a few bounces go his way and a couple plays are made that number could have easily been much lower. Will need to continue to develop his changeup to make him even more effective.

Josh has an athletic, projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 165-pounds. On the mound he showed command of all 3 pitches and ran his fastball up to 88 mph. Curveball was sharp at 70-73 mph with 11/5 action and showed good feel for his changeup. He has consistently gained velocity each time we’ve seen him and with his frame/loose arm that trend should continue. The two-way prospect showed his versatility by impressing in the field as well as on the mound. Used athletic footwork and showed confidence in his glove. Had the top positional velocity of the winter as he reached 90 mph across the diamond. At the plate he starts in a wide set up and uses a toe turn to initiate his lower half. Bat gets through the zone with strength and speed producing consistent line drives in batting practice. Would like to see him transfer more weight into contact. Reached a top exit velocity of 90 mph and ran a 4.45 from home to first.

Was able to remain athletic as he moved laterally and had confidence in his glove. Made an outstanding, sliding play to his glove side and threw accurately from his knees. From a ¾ slot he showed off impressive, 86 mph arm strength across the diamond. At the plate he starts with a wide, athletic base and uses and inward knee turn to load his lower half. Timing dictates whether he uses a double tap to stride or uses a normal stride. Goes with a rhythmic, hands back load with his upper half before firing his hands through the zone with a level path. Ball jumps off his bat when he finds the barrel. Exit velocity was 89 mph and he ran a 4.35 from home to first. On the mound he shows some rhythm in his delivery. Shows good direction in his delivery, landing on line at foot strike. Throws from a long arm action into a ¾ slot with some effort in the delivery. Three pitch mix with the fastball sitting 82-86 mph. Slider is thrown with 11/5 sharp break at 69-71 mph on a 11/5 plane. Changeup sits 78-79 mph. 7/28/15

Foot down, hands back on his load with a flat path and 78 mph exit velocity and was 4.64 home to first. From the outfield he is aggressive in his routes to the ball with 84 mph arm strength from a high-3/4 slot. In the infield he fields the ball out in front with a clean transfer and 84 mph arm strength across the diamond. On the mound he shows a lot of life in his body with an up tempo delivery. Throws from a high-3/4 slot with his fastball sitting 81-85 mph with some arm side run. Shows two different breaking balls. Curveball has 11/5 tilt at 64-67 mph and shows a slider with later break at 69-70 mph. Showcased a changeup with good arm speed at 73 mph.

His out pitch is his 67-70 mph slider that shows sharp biting action. Also throws a 71 mph changeup. The right handed hitter displays some pop in his swing as he uses an uphill bat path. Registered a top exit velocity of 82 mph. In the field, it is obvious the best tool is his arm as the ball jumps across the diamond. Also shows some softness in hands while topping out at 80 mph.

On the mound he projects with good balance in his delivery and long arm swing. He lands slightly closes and falls off a bit. He throws from a high ¾ slot with a fastball sitting 78-79 mph. His curveball is slow developing at 64-65 mph with 11 to 5 break. He throws his changeup with good arm speed at 67 mph.
