Luke Senften: LHP/OF, (2023) Glenoak, OH. 5-foot-11, 185-pound. Solid at the plate, Senften clocked an exit velocity of 89 mph. Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a quick load, then uses a toe tap. Had quick bat speed. During his round he produced some loud contact and found multiple barrels. Line drive approach. Solid while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 76 mph; has a fluid exchange, athletic feet, and soft hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Recorded a time of 7.35 in the 60-yard dash. Solid on the mound, showed a ¾ angle. Feel type pitcher who shows easy effort. Lands square with a clean finish. Curveball (63-66 mph), changeup (73-74 mph). Sat with his fastball at 78-81 mph.


Luke Senften: LHP/1B, (2023) Glenoak, OH. 5-foot-10, 175-pound athletic frame. In the box, the left-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 95 mph. Starts in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth load, then uses a controlled stride. Has explosive bat speed, upward swing plane and high finish. Solid in the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 84 mph; shows sure hands, a fluid exchange, and athletic feet. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Had a long arm action with a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.5. Solid on the mound, showed quick arm speed, also used a high ¾ arm angle with a consistent arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses easy effort. Changeup (68-70 mph), slider (67-70 mph).Sat with his fastball at 80-82 mph.


5-foot-10, 175-pound athletic body frame. On the mound he throws using regular effort to his delivery landing slightly more open at foot strike finishing with his momentum carrying toward the plate. Has average arm speed through a ¾ slot fastball was true through the zone 75-78 mph. Curveball has a 1/7 shape with some depth and gradual break between 56-68 mph. Slider has good shape with sinking action, tighter break than curveball offers hitters a different look at a breaking pitch. Changeup is thrown with fastball arm speed 66-68 mph. At first base he has adequate footwork staying low to the ground and moves well laterally off the base to cover ground. Throws from a lower ¾ slot reaching a velocity of 76 mph. In the outfield he has fluid footwork while approaching the baseball transitioning into a shuffle to help aid velocity on his throws reaching 78 mph. Left-handed hitter starts from a relaxed set up. Fluid load with his lower half shifting to his back leg. Hands stay mostly quiet finishing his swing with a high, two-handed follow through. Showed the ability to hit the ball to all parts of the field during his round of BP registering and exit velocity of 83 mph. Ran a 7.85 60-yard dash.

Delivery Notes: Slow tempo delivery that seems effortless. Does a good job transitioning weight and using the lower half. High ¾ arm slot.
Fastball: Arm side two seam action at 75 mph.
Curveball: Loopy 1/7 break at 53-54 mph.
Changeup: Slows arm speed down a little to help control, shows potential. 60-64mph.

Hit: Left handed athletic stance with solid level swing. Makes solid contact with the ball. Consistent up the middle.
Power: Decent power for class with an exit velo of 80mph.
Offensive Projection: Gap to gap hitter/run producer.
Field: Conservative approach with big arm.
Throw: 76mph outfield velocity. 72mph infield velo.
Defensive Projection: 1B

2/3/19 Position

Body Type: 5-foot-8 148-pound prospect.

Swing Mechanics: Shows a balanced setup and finish. Front hip hinge initiates his load. Casts his barrel completely around the zone with a long bat path.

Hit: Average bat to ball ability.

Power: 74 mph exit velocity.

Offensive Projection: Presently would be limited to a line drive singles type approach.

Field: At 1B he showed solid feet and ok angles through the ball. Had pretty good feel around the bag.

Throw: 70 mph across the diamond.

Run: 8.26 60 yard dash.

Defensive Projection: Presently would be a 1B only type defensive guy at the next level.

2/3/19 Pitching

Body Type: 5-foot-8 148-pound prospect.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Throws from a ¾ arm slot with a drop and drive component to his delivery.

Fastball: 66-70 mph fastball showed some natural fade to the arm side.

Breaking Ball: 53-54 mph breaking ball showed curveball shape and spin. Big overhand curveball. Shows potential.

Changeup: 59-60 mph changeup was mostly true through the zone with some depth at times.

Pitchability: Average command of his three pitch mix.

Role: For a 2023 he would profile as a starter type due to having two secondary offerings that would be at least average compared to others in his class.
