8/6/17
A two-way prospect in the 2018 class. On the mound the right-hander has a slower paced tempo that speeds up at balanced point. Drop and drive type guy that generates adequate momentum with his lower half. Offers a three-pitch mix, working through a high-¾ slot. Fastball showed regular run sitting 83-85 mph. Maintains arm speed on his changeup that showed late run and dive. Looked confident in the offering. Spins a tight curveball that works on an 11/5 plane. Puts good spin on the offering that has depth to it at 72-73 mph. At the plate he has a middle of the lineup look to him. Strength/bat speed combination is well above average and shows in swing. Stays inside the baseball well, generating regular backspin. Showed the ability to find the gap with ease. Behind the plate he starts in a low to mid crouch. Exchange skills are quick and the ball gets out of his hand well. Solid catch and throw guy in general.
60-yard Dash: 7.1
Pop Time: 1.95-2.08
Catcher Velocity: 76
Exit Velocity: 88

Vorhees possesses a 6-foot, 180-pound athletic body frame. Behind the plate he uses quick footwork to get himself turned and in line on his throws down to second base. He also displays quickness in his catch to release transfer, producing a top velocity of 77 mph on his throws to reach pop times between 1.90-2.01. Right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance, getting himself squared back up to even before he swings. He uses a fluid load with his hands moving toward his back shoulder. Swings with a slightly upward bat path, finishing with a two-handed follow through. He showed strength and the ability to use both sides of the field during his round of batting practice. On the mound he uses some effort to his delivery. He lands slightly more closed at foot strike, and finishes with his momentum carrying toward the first base side. He throws with a long arm action, using some quickness to his arm speed, through a ¾ slot. His fastball showed tailing action at times between 81-84 mph. His curveball had some sharpness, at an 11/5 plane between 66-68 mph. He threw his changeup using fastball arm speed between 68-70 mph.
