Michael Conte: RHP/3B, (2021) Walnut Hills, OH. Central Michigan Commit, 6-foot-3, 195-pound. Advanced on the mound, showed quick arm speed with a long arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Slow-tempo type pitcher who uses easy effort. Has an athletic balance point. Displayed a clean finish Cutter (84-85 mph), curveball (78-80 mph), changeup (82-84 mph).Threw his fastball 88-89 mph.

7/06/20

Scouting Notes: Stock up here. One of the top arms we saw on the day. 6-foot-3, long lever type that comes downhill at hitters. Showed three quality offerings. Tosses an easy fastball that was 85-89mph throughout his outing. Breaking ball was sharp, with late bite to it and present swing/miss. Also has a more than playable changeup. Could make an argument he was the top arm of the day.
Fastball: 85-89mph.
Fastball Spin Rate: 2171-2232
Breaking Ball: 76-78mph.
Breaking Ball Spin Rate: 2012-2098
Changeup: 80-82mph.

2/22/20

Delivery Notes: A very mobile lower half that is straight to the plate. A smooth arm action in the ¾ arm slot.
Fastball: 85-87mph with a 1900-2100rpm spin rate on Rapsodo.
Curveball: 74-75mph with a 1600-1800rpm spine rate on Rapsodo with 11-5 movement. CB has that gaining momentum look to it
Changeup: 78mph Good arm action on CH

2/17/18

6-foot-2 and 175-pound right-handed pitcher with projectable frame. Works at a quick tempo. Delivery is compact and efficient. Works slightly across his body at release. Conte offered a four pitch mix on this day. The Fastball works on a downward plane with occasional run at 74-76 MPH for strikes. Projects more velocity in the future. The changeup shows sinking action near the zone at 65-66 MPH. The slider, which is presently the better of his two breaking pitches, sat 67-70 MPH with some bite and 10/4 shape. The curveball has 11/5 tilt with gradual break sitting 60-63 MPH. Two-way prospect. At the plate he starts open, getting squared through a short stride. Hands move slightly back prior to accelerating the barrel through the zone on a level path. Swing shows some loft and is compact. Strength stands out at contact. A line drive to gap guy now who has a chance to be dynamic once bat speed catches up to strength. Showed the ability to use the entire field in BP.  Young bat to follow. Impressed in the infield. Worked out at third base where he has the frame for the spot. Moves well with fluid actions. Showed the ability to throw accurately on the move. Ball skills are well above average for class as well.
