Nicholas Vardavas: LHP/OF, (2022) North Canton Hoover, OH. 5-foot-11, 180-pound. Solid on the mound, showing good arm speed he had a loose arm action with a high ¾ arm angle. Feel type pitcher who shows easy effort. Showed athletic balance point and in line shoulders. Displayed a falling off finish Curveball (72-74 mph), changeup (77-78 mph). Sat with his fastball at 83-86 mph. 


Nicholas Vardavas: LHP/OF, (2022) North Canton Hoover, OH. 5-foot-11, 180-pound athletic frame. At the plate, Vardavas was ranked 2nd with an exit velocity of 99 mph.Begins in an athletic stance with a smooth quick load, then uses a controlled stride. Bat speed is explosive and uses a level swing plane. Athletic from the outfield, he showed plus arm strength by making throws to the infield at velocities up to 90 mph;shows a clean exchange, soft hands, and smooth athletic feet. Fields the ball one hand, movements laterally were athletic.


Scouting Notes: Good athlete with a fast arm. Sat in the low 80s with physical signs of more to come. High follow on that alone but he also spun one of the better breaking balls of the day. The 1/7 shaped breaker has late, hard bite to it. Froze hitters all day with the breaker.
Fastball: 81-83 mph.

Breaking Ball: 70-72 mph.

Hit: Whippy stroke from the left side. Good athlete with burst. Ball jumps when squared.
Power: Gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.

Field: Corner skill set in the outfield. Plays with good tempo and some fluditty to actions. Ball sills are on par for class.
Throw: Ball jumps, easy release. Projects to be a well above average tool.
Defensive Projection: Corner look to him.


Hit:Athletic stroke from the left side. Loose hands allow for natural whip through the zone. Worked line to line in BP with consistent backspin. Solid bat to follow.
Power:Gap abilities.
Offensive Projection:Multiple Roles.

Max BP Distance:293 ft
Field:In the outfield he plays with good tempo in his approach and is able to maintain rhythm during play through.
Throw: Loose arm with present strength and should continue to add.
Defensive Projection:

Scouting Notes:Two-way prospect who stood out on both sides of the ball. On the mound he's a good athlete up to 83 mph with feel for spin and a playable changeup. There's no reason to think he shouldn't continue to trend upwards velo wise.
Fastball:80-83 mph.

Body Type:  5-foot-10, 140-pound athletic, projectable frame.

Swing Mechanics: Barrel travels to a vertical launch during his leg kick timing trigger.

Hit: Whippy stroke that travels on an efficient path to contact. Good athlete with obvious burst through the zone. Energy filled swing in general that creates pop to both sides of the feel. Has a real chance as he adds strength to frame.

Power: 92 mph off the bat in BP. Ball jumps.

Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.

Run: 4.01 H-1st from the left side.

Field: In the outfield he moves well with athletic actions. Ball skills appear to be above average for class.

Throw: Clean arm with above average arm speed. Should see velo gains down the road.

Defensive Projection: LF.


Body Type: 5-foot-10, 140-pound athletic, projectable frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Southpaw on the mound with a momentum style delivery that utilizes lower half very well. Arm works well, coming through a near over the top slot with above average arm speed. Candidate for velo jump as he continues to develop physically.
Fastball: 74-79 mph. Works on a downward plane staying mostly true through the zone. Lives at the knees with the offering.
Curveball: 64-67 mph. Spins a 2/8 shaped breaking ball that is a nice complement to the fastball. The pitch has gradual action and was in the zone for the most part.
Pitchability: Strike thrower.


Body Type: 5-foot-9, 137-pound prospect.

Swing Mechanics: Tall stance from the left side of the plate. Uses a leg kick timing trigger as barrel flows to a vertical launch position.

Hit: Swing shows noticeable whip through the zone with feel for contact. Sprayed it in BP, backspinning it to the middle of the field. High follow for when strength arrives.

Power: 80 mph exit velocity. Line drive guy with potential for much more.

Offensive Projection: Top of Lineup.

Run: 4.47 H-1st.

Field: In the outfield he plays with fluidity to and through. One-handed plays through with developing ball skills.

Throw: 79 mph strength to home plate.

Defensive Projection: TBD.

2/14/19 Pitching

Body Type: 5-foot-9, 137 pounds. Thin frame with room to add.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Presented arm action that gets through his release nicely coming out of a ¾ arm slot. Tempo shown flows with rhythm in his motion. Gets extended downhill with force.

Fastball: 76-78 mph. Fastball showed off his arm strength and kept it in the zone often.

Curveball: 62-64 mph. 12-6 breaker that’s playable now as he works to get on top of the pitch as he pulls it down.

Changeup: 66-68 mph. Tailing arm-side run with sink. Best off-speed pitch.

Pitchability: Body will continue to fill out and improve arm strength and overall ability on the mound. Displayed stronger arm for his age, good mechanics and nice intent in his actions that will lead to greater progression as he continues working in his future.
