A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
2/3/19 Body Type: 5-foot-10, 150-pound prospect. Swing Mechanics: Lefty swinger that starts in a tall, open setup. Goes with a leg kick for timing as barrel travels to a vertical launch. Hit: Athletic moves in the box with natural whip through the zone. Barrel stays in the zone for a long time, giving him a large margin for error in contact. Easy juice with an all fields approach. Power: 70 mph exit velocity. Line drive with gap abilities. Louder BP than exit velo would suggest. Offensive Projection: TBD. Run: 7.1 60-yard dash. Field: Gets too and through the baseball quickly. Looks to be an above average athlete. Ball skills are adequate. Throw: Shorter arm action with developing strength. Defensive Projection: LF.
2/4/18
A lefty swinger at the plate that starts in a taller setup. Uses a leg kick for timing as barrel flows through load. Takes an uphill path to the baseball with more quickness than strength to hands. Tends to get around the ball at times and would be aided by creating more barrel direction to the middle of the field. A contact guy at this stage with more to come as strength catches up to quickness. In the outfield he plays with fast, aggressive feet prior to fielding. Tends to slow momentum at fielding to ensure ball security. Transfer is smooth and he gets rid of the ball in a timely fashion. Arm action is shorter with average strength.
60-yard dash: 7.23
Outfield Velocity: 77
Exit Velocity: 70
1/22/17 5-foot-9, 140-pound prospect. Very solid pre fielding footwork in the infield. Fields through the ball efficiently and maintains momentum into his throws. Left-handed hitter that starts in a tall, upright stance. Starts open and closes up in his stride. Shows room to improve the use of his lower half. Hands load from shoulder on slight uphill path. Uses two-handed follow through. Top exit velocity of 65 mph off the tee.
