Gillison is committed to Michigan State for football.
2/19/17 Currently committed to Michigan State for football. Lots of raw tools and athleticism. Defensively, he shows athleticism in his feet, but needs to continue developing comfort around the bag at first. Long arm action with top velocity of 74 mph on his throws. Will be aided by squaring up to his target and getting full rotation through his throws. Few, if any prospect in the 2018 class has as much upside at the plate as the Pickerington Central product. It is not hard to believe he is a star on the gridiron with his 6-foot-5, 240-pound impressively built frame. In the box Gillison has a fluid loading sequence before launch, where he lets his elite natural tools go to work. The ball explodes off his bat. Power potential is there as many of his fly balls in batting practice looked to have a shot to leave the yard. Registered the top exit velocity of the event at 96 mph.
60 Yard Dash: 7.08 Position Velocity: 74 Exit Velocity: 96
6/7/16 A very impressive, intimidating build at 6-foot-5, 235-pounds. Has as much upside as anybody at the event with his frame and strength. At the plate he is very fluid for his size as he gets efficient use out of his lower half through a toe turn load. Has a ton of batspeed through the zone and the ball just looked different coming off his bat. His batting practice was fun to watch as he consistently drove the ball with authority, taking several balls over the left field fence. As impressive as his 96 mph exit velocity is the fact that he ran a 7.19 60-yard dash may be even more impressive. Also a top prospect on the gridiron but showed today he has potential to be a two sport athlete at the next level. Raw defensively at first base but with his athleticism he should improve quickly as he develops feel for his position. With his physical skill set a move to the outfield might not be out of the question.
