6/4/13 5-foot-11, 185-pound athletic two-way prospect that recently gave his commitment to Ohio University. Registered a 6.95 60-yard dash. In the field, he shows athletic feet. In the long run, he may project best as a third baseman or corner outfielder. Reached a top velocity of 86 mph across the infield. At the plate, he starts with a slightly open stance. He uses a short stride with good balance in his swing. He consistently squared up the baseball and showed pull power. Registered a top exit velocity of 85 mph off the tee. On the mound, the righty throws through a high ¾ arm slot with short arm action. The delivery requires some effort, but he uses a good tempo. His fastball is straight at 85-88 mph. He showed several off-speed pitches with his best being a hard 76 mph breaking ball with 12/6 break. Also uses a 78-80 mph cutter and a 73 mph changeup.
2/24/13 5-foot-11, 180-pound prospect with a strong, solid frame. His fastball sat 87-88 mph with max effort. Needs to continue to create a repeatable delivery to help his consistency and command. Curveball shows late 11/5 break, but doesn’t locate it consistently in the zone. Shows a 73-76 mph changeup with some arm side run and a 77 mph spllt-finger fastball. While he shows the potential to play third base at the next level, his future may be on the mound due to his arm strength. If he shows consistent command of his fastball and develops an effective second pitch, he will gain plenty of attention this summer. Right now, he draws comparisons to 2013 Akron recruit Jonny Nottingham. In the field, he projects as a third base type. Uses short arm action with 88 mph arm strength across the infield. Quick exchange and transfer. Needs to continue working on glovework. At the plate, the right-handed hitter uses his physical strength. He is quick through the zone (90 mph exit velocity off the tee). Shows good balance. Shows definite power potential.
2/18/12 Shows good baseball sense and skills on his smallish 5-foot-10, 170-pound body. Ran 5.06 40-yard dash. Defensively, looks like 3B/2B type infielder that could move easily to the outfield. Good actions, shows sound lateral movement and hands with 83 mph arm strength from all angles. The righty hitter has an upright stance with a somewhat low hand trigger, but has good bat speed (86 bat velo). Gets good hand extension with finish and lower body torque. On the bump, has quick 3/4 arm with some late life on 81-83 FB. Good arm action on 72-73 change up but needs to improve feel on curve. Good D-1 two shot
6/04/12 5-foot-10, 160-pound two-way prospect. Active player that could play a number of positions in the infield at the next level. Hands work well. Registered a 7.24 60-yard dash. At the plate, he uses a chest level hand trigger which creates some flatness in the plane of his swing. Strong kid with a line drive type swing. On the mound, he uses a compact delivery with moderate arm speed through a 3/4 slot. Needs to be more consistent with backside hip pop in follow through. Fastball ranges 82-85 mph with slurvy type curveball (65-66 mph) and some fade action on change-up (71-72 mph) Needs to develop consistency in off-speed pitches.
