6/2/14
6-foot-2, 210-pound prospect with big, soft frame. Starts from a slight crouch. Uses a short stride. Uphill path to the ball. Pull tendencies in his swing. Top exit velocity of 82 mph. Singled to opposite field in game play. Average actions around the bag at first base. Tendency to throw uphill. Ran a 7.69 60.

2/17/14
Patten's ticket to the next level is at the plate. The big left-handed hitter uses an aggressive approach at the plate. On this occasion, he used a wooden bat and showed excellent bat control. He starts from an open stance with a bit of crouch. With quick hands and an uphill path to the ball, Patten showed obvious pull power in his swing. He projects as a middle of the order type bat. Patten will need to continue to improve his physique and foot speed; otherwise he may best used as a DH at the next level.

2/18/13
6-foot-2, 205-pound first baseman with a soft frame. Registered a 7.85 60. Moves well around the bag. Uses long arm action. Needs to continue to quicken transfer. Reached at top velocity of 65 mph. At the plate, the left-handed hitter continues to show improvement in his swing. Uses a short stride with an uphill path to the ball. Displays the makings of middle of the order bat with pull power. Reached a top exit velocity of 82 mph off the tee.

2/10/13
6-foot-2, 210-pound left-handed first baseman. Moves well around the bag, but needs to continue developing foot work and arm strength (68 mph). At present, his best tool is his bat. Left-handed hitter projects as a middle of the order type bat with pull power. Uses a short stride. Needs to work on staying inside the baseball as he tendency to let his hands get away from him.  Takes slight uphill path to the ball and shows some strength in his swing (83 mph exit velocity).
