Grayson Tempest: OF/RHP, (2023) Union, OK. 5-foot-9, 160-pound athletic frame. In the box, Tempest had a max exit velocity of 78 mph. Begins in a balanced stance with a slow small load, then uses a small leg kick to start his swing. Has flat swing plane, some bat speed and a back foot finish. Found some barrels in his round. Line drive approach. Solid in the outfield with advanced speed, his best throw of the day was clocked at 79 mph; showed developing feet, a developing exchange and firm hands. Showed a short arm action and a ¾ slot. The athletic recruit showcased his speed with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.87.
A 5-foot-8, 140-pound athletic frame; OF/RHP. During batting practice, the right-handed hitters best exit velocity was 76 mph. Starts in a balanced stance with a smooth load, then uses a short stride before his swing. Displays a level swing plane, as well as quick bat speed and a high finish. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field approach, found some barrels. In the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 72 mph;showed a quick exchange, hard hands and quick feet. Showed average movements laterally and fielded with ball to the side. Had a stiff arm action and a ¾ slot with some accuracy to the bag. He performed well in the 60-yard dash, clocking a speedy time of 6.95.
