At 6-foot-3, 175-pound, Ferris brings loud present stuff and future intrigue to the mound. The uncommitted right-hander has been up to 89 mph in our looks, pitching in the mid-to-upper-80s from a controlled, relatively easy operation downhill. Though still developing feel for his secondaries, Ferris’ slider has some interesting spin characteristics, particularly a 2,400+ RPM average on the pitch. He’s one of the top uncommitted arms in the Oklahoma 2024 class and is headed to the PBR Future Games at the end of July.

Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 6-foot-2, 180-pounds. Athletic and starter’s build with present strength and room for more in the future.
Delivery: Simple and easy footwork around the rubber working to an easy pivot foot. Slow and methodical pace to the delivery with control over the body. Hands work quietly throughout the delivery with hand break at the top of the balance point. Short sink into the lower half with strong leg drive into a firm plant leg.
Arm: Action: High ¾ arm slot with a clean and quick arm action.
Pitch Profiles: Worked the fastball between 85-89 mph with strong spin (2464 rpm) and strong riding life through the zone. Showed a 78-80 mph change up with good hand speed and strong fading action to the arm side. Slider worked 75-76 mph with tight spin and short cutting shape with late depth and action.

Body: 6-foot-2, 170-pound long-limbed athletic and projectable frame.
Hit: RHH. At the plate starts with a slightly open stance with hands setting quietly into position at shoulder height with a relaxed back elbow. Short knee knock leg lift stride with weight transferring from backside to firm front leg. Gets lots of shoulder lean to allow for uphill bat path and tries to play the ball up in the air. Long levered swing with good extension. Matches plan very well with the lower half working underneath the ball.
Power: 85 mph exit velocity off the tee and 87 mph exit velocity in BP.
Arm: RH. OF-86 mph. Over the top arm slot with clean arm action and very good hand speed.
Defense: In the outfield attacks the ball with longer strides and rhythmic feet. Fields the ball a little deep off the glove side leg but does show good glove action and clean transfers. Step-behind crow hop with good momentum headed towards target.
Run: 4.94 runner to first base.
Delivery: On the mound uses simple footwork around the rubber with smooth and methodical pace. Works to a mid height balance point with hands breaking in rhythm with the front leg. Gets slight knee bend with slight push off the rubber with upper body leaning towards the plate. Works from the first base side of the rubber and lands slightly closed down the slope.
Arm Action: High ¾ arm slot with clean arm action heavy recoil at finish.
FB: 80-83 mph, very high avg spin rate for class (2441 rpm) with mostly straight action and tons of riding life through the zone.
SL: 70-72 mph, sharp break with tight spin (2495 rpm) and the makings of a plus swing and miss pitch.
